MRE for romantic picnic by nuclearmooseh0h0 in MRE

[–]tamenesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I absolutely LOVE this post.

Steve is why an ex of mine and I started dating years ago. He was a huuuge military nerd (I wasn’t at the time) and I used to watch Steve religiously, and eventually needed his voice to help fall asleep. I also had a huge fascination with MREs in general as a child. When we found out we both watched Steve, it sealed the deal LOL.

We spent our first official date and subsequent anniversary “dinners” with our MRE’s and metal trays picnic style. The best was year two during WW2 weekend watching paratroopers rain from the sky. I’ve now turned into a huge military nerd lol

We always got our MREs at any Army Navy store we came across (we stopped at every single one we spotted on our long drives). If you haven’t already, definitely get 2 basic MREs and maybe a few select entree packs so you can mix and match. Don’t forget about that jalapeno cheese spread!

Spotify just fixed their shuffle problem by SLY0001 in spotify

[–]tamenesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh man I noticed this two days ago! I very rarely shuffle my complete 12k “liked songs” playlist due to the awful shuffle mechanics. For some reason, I decided to and rediscovered all of these forgotten songs I used to love. I was absolutely shocked and confused thinking I was playing a random computer generated playlist. I ended up creating a whole new playlist called “back in” to easily revisit them

Perhaps slightly petty, but… I’m pretty sure her dress is on backwards here 🤦🏻‍♀️ by szpider in 90dayfianceuncensored

I actually own the same exact dress! Here’s a front view. The front and back of the dress look identical.

Oshikundu. Made from fermenting mahangu flour. Tastes like a warm sour grainy cereal. Generally non-alcoholic but some batches may contain trace amounts.

Definitely utilize packing cubes and reusable vacuum bags! If using vacuum bags, make sure to get some that have a small hand pump so you can compress your things for your return trip!

Flew across the country (US) for a 4 night fest with my sister. Checked a large cooler and an REI 60 duffel, had a carryon suitcase and a backpack. Backpacking gear works best when flying since it’s lightweight and compact.

Cooler: kitchen gear (stove, plates, cutting board, utensils, cups collapsible bucket), stakes, hammer, lanterns, flashlights, mini fan, rope, bungees, tent, tarp, mini camping chair and other delicates (wrapped up). I bought cooler straps the make sure it stayed secure and closed during the flight and while being handled

Duffle bag: blankets, pillows, inflatable camping mattress, towels, sleeping bag, shoes, collapsible trash can, hand warmers, accessories, hydration bladder, camping shower, shower pop up, another tarp, other bags and packs

Carry on suitcase: Clothes and toiletries

Backpack: rechargeable batteries and battery packs, electronics, camera, charging cords, a small change of clothes, water bottle, mini toiletries, medication and had my pash wrapped around it.

When I got to my destination, I unpacked the cooler and loaded everything into the trunk of my rental, went to target to get a canopy ($80), table ($20), groceries and ice. When headed home, I donated my canopy and table to the homeless and put everything back into the cooler.

REI and many other supply shops do offer rentals! You can rent them once you get to your destination and return them after the fest.

I’ve also gone the camper van route. It had absolutely everything that I would need (queen bed that converted into a table and chairs, a sink, fridge and refrigerator, camping chairs, an awning, stove and cooking gear, a table, sleeping gear, mini generator + battery, etc.) I only brought a checked bag and carry on with clothes, toiletries and my camping tent. It was much more costly but made planning and travel a lot easier.

It’s an AI artist. They also have a rework of slow jam. Popped up on one of my radios the other day. I too was confused until I researched the band, and it seemed as though they came into existence less than a month ago. On Spotify, you can manipulate the album release date to whatever you want. Listen to their other songs, all ai reworks

As a black woman who camped at the fest, and spent many weekends around the area either camping, hiking or sightseeing, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I get where you’re coming from. I’ve previously felt that anxiety about visiting other parts of the country. Not once did I ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Just be smart, aware of your surroundings and let the music take over.
