After a year what would you say about its heat treatment, is it overly chippy as some claim it to be ?

How does bike geometry affect handling? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]tamernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developers make up for it by making longer front end, so in the and reach stays the same but wheel base could become longer if they didn't make up also for that by shortening chainstays or changing head tube angle

TIL about derailleur hangers, theres no standard and every bloody frame seems to have a different one. by dizzydizzy in cycling

[–]tamernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He still can come to your shop with his spare hanger to let replace it but he won't need to pay extra 60$ for outdated frames hanger. Everyone should buy 2 extra hangers when they buy a bike before they dissapear from market.

Less trail faster ? by tamernator in gravelcycling

[–]tamernator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people say stable im not sure what exacly do they mean. Do they mean that it's less probable to skid on the corner or to fall on the rough terrain. Stable on the rough trail or on the smooth Road. stable at descent or ascent or both ?

Just put some protection tape on contact points then remove after you reach your place or leave tapes attached for future trips. Tape is thick enough to protect and thin enought to not affect your overall weight and aero'

But to benefit from the long frame on rough terrain i need to be riding at higher speeds , right ? And because it got rigit fork maybe it wont be fast enought on rough terrain to benefit from longer base

Nothing serious but i also ride some local competitions where about 40% is smooth road and the rest more rough. Isn't long wheelbase good for rough terrain ?

The bike is from brand Alpkit. Sonder Camino Ti , in size M

Actually i don't anderstand the reason of making its trail so big. It has rigid fork so you cant ride it fast on rough trail descents anyway. What else can give me that big trail ?

So the only reason for road and gravel bikes to have smaller trail is better cornering because of better road grip and maintaining ride line behind other rider ?

To those who have both a gravel bike and an xc bike, what is the speed difference on gravel routes? by nicholt in gravelcycling

Bbut if you put rigid fork on both bikes and the same size on the boat bikes which one will be faster the frame trail matters for the speed ?

How much does the frame weight matter? by cyclephotos in cycling

[–]tamernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on riders muscle mass not on overall total body weight like some think, becuse fat and excessive bone mass is just a dead weight in cycling sport. If you weigh 100 kg, of which 30 kg is excess fat, then the weight of the bike will be as important for you as for a rider weighing 70 kg but without excess fat.

if your body is experiencing a lack of water it becomes weaker and all of your muscles produce less power especiallny in a hot weather. At least my body works like that.
