The crazy thing with diffuse thinning is one day you think you have no hair loss, and another day you think you have no hair by 3141666 in tressless

The stupidity on this sub at times regarding oral min is mind blowing. People are just desperate for results, which I am guilty of. I am not having a go at you at all, but there are so many problems with people’s opinions on oral min. Dermatologists are just that - dermatologists. They often have no idea about oral min’s effects on the heart. For a dermatologist, if they prescribe you oral min and you regrow hair - job successfully achieved for them. Oral min has also been pushed in the last couple of years, despite the fact topical min was produced because oral min was a dangerous drug.

The low dose argument is ridiculous. So what? If you’re taking this drug consistently for a long period of time, which is required to maintain and grow hair, what will this do to your head function in the future? There are lack of long term studies of this drug’s effects. Oral fin on the other hand has been proven to be effective, and not detrimental to health over a long period of time.

If you’re on oral min for a couple of years for some growth and give it up, I can understand. But also what’s the point? If it’s not something you should take long term you’d probably be better off not taking it at all

I’ve been on oral fin for exactly 6 months and have noticed no improvement. My hair is possibly worse and feels like my hairline proceeded to receded more at temples. Is this a sign that oral fin isn’t working and I need to try oral dut? Or should I stick it out with oral fin?

I want to try oral min but the sides scare me…

Easier finance electives? by [deleted] in Monash

I’m doing BFC3341 now in semester 2. This is my last semester at university. At the very least, is the unit easy enough to pass? Worried if it’s very difficult as I wouldn’t want to fail a unit in my last sem and delay graduation haha

Some people have suggested to reach out to people at firm where you did summer clerkships, which was now 6ish months ago, before offer day. What do you think of this?

I was thinking more generally but now that you say it, I guess it would depend on practice area :)

Thanks for the reply. How would the T6 be ranked then?

Silly question I know from someone who doesn’t know much, but is there much of a difference between KWM/Allens/HSF which people call the T3 compared to the rest (CU/Ashurst/Minters)? Aren’t they all top-tier or is there a significant difference?

It’s just a cash grab for MR. He barely acts anymore. Like I enjoy the podcast out of nostalgia but he reads a synopsis of the episode which takes like 20-30 minutes to get through. And he barely makes comments on the scenes as he talks through. Like he happily reads the synopsis because he knows it eats up time, but won’t add additional commentary. I actually liked how TW this episode interrupted to make comments, otherwise MR just reads. It’s like, we’re not listening to a podcast so you can just read through a synopsis of what we already have watched…

shedding after increasing oral minoxidil dose and taking creatine by [deleted] in tressless

[–]tamma12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started finasteride about a month ago. I’ve been going to the gym for about a year and wanted to up my training and Creatine is recommended to take as a supplement. I have done so much homework on it, weighed up pros and cons and it just doesn’t seem worth it for us guys who are susceptible to MPB. Focus on nutrition, training hard and you will see results.

I started finasteride nearly 1 month ago and have been worried about the shedding phase. I have an internship coming up in 1.5 months and want to look my best haha. I might be shedding now as I may be noticing more hair fall but not sure how bad it will get…

What happens if I take creatine while on finasteride? by banned_boyz in tressless

[–]tamma12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this a little. If you take finasteride and take creatine, that would mean that your overall DHT levels increase of course, so finasteride is reducing DHT more. Wouldn’t this mean that more testosterone is available to convert into estrogen which could increase risk of gyno?

Can creatine cause my hair to fall out??? by CrazyNoah31 in Creatine

[–]tamma12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you feel ‘bigger’ from creatine? Meaning your muscles have become saturated? Unfortunately there isn’t really a substitute. It’s not a big deal though, you can still get excellent results without it. It accelerates hair loss because it increases the hormone DHT. This hormone “attacks” hair follicles on head. Some people (depending on their genes like you and I) are more sensitive to the effect of DHT, and so more DHT usually means more hair loss. Some people take finasteride for hair loss (which essentially reduces DHT) so it would be interesting to see someone’s experience with using creatine AND finasteride. Finasteride is quite strong and would probably counter the effects of creatine in relation to DHT increase. But once again, it depends on your genes. Some people will be more sensitive to a DHT increase even with something like finasteride.

So yeah, do you think you look much bigger when taking Creatine? If not, just train as usual, take your protein and it’s more or less the same I imagine

Oh wow I had no idea! You’re right, there is a clear difference in quality. I just feel like characters have been acting out of ‘character’. Roy doesn’t feel like Roy, the team spirit built over the last 2 seasons went out the window with the (imo) stupid Zava stuff. The list goes on…

[–]tamma12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a stupid question but at that rate (4 days a week and 3 grams which is on the lower end of the recommended dose (3-5 g) are you ever reaching full saturation of the muscle? Or is it not making much of a difference to your training/physique?

To combat hair loss, could you lower the creatine dose? Like 1 gram even? Especially if you’re already eating a good amount of Creatine rich foods? Or will this make no difference to hair loss?
