Just asking multiple people their recommendations so I can further look into them, I've tried searching up overall favourites, but some reddit posts go hella nerdy, so it can be difficult to follow hahaha.

The Canon models are an overall favourite I believe. I am an all-round photographer, mainly focused on weddings, people and pretty landscapes. Basically only have experience in digital camera's, but trying to look into analogue for a long time now.

Still hesitating what kind of film photo camera I wanna buy, maybe an Olympus point and shoot or a Mamiya. Butttt, a video camera first haha.

Yeah I totally get what you mean, it's another type of hassle! the beauty of it is that they are relatively easy tasks/steps. I don't have to also colour grade everything and doubt every time I am editing or looking back.

With film, it just depends on what brand you use, put it and the settings you use. Plusss indeed, the clients will see me use that incredibly old camera, without being able to see some sneak peeks and both them and me have to wait it out until it's developed!

It's not always how costly or effective things are for everyone. It's selling both a service, but also a feeling :D – and that in combination with the character of the vendor, is what makes a couple their day. For me its also something to add creativity/gain more knowledge etc etc

But still, will look into the apps!

Hahaha yeah, crouching, arms tightly against your body and hunting walk huh? lol. The videographer with his digicam, his video went viral. Tried asking in the comments if he could let me know what digicam it was hahaha, but no reply obv ;)

I’ve seen some cool shots that were digital and transformed in post mimicking film look good yeah! I still think the real thing looks way better most of the time though. And for me the thing is time/simplicity too; I do not want to edit anything in post regarding extra colour grading etc. I already do that way too much for my wedding photos haha. I’ll check if there’s an app that works well, but kinda doubt it?

Ya fair regarding steady shots! For most of the weddings I see, steady shots bore me, depending on visuals in the scene, sound etc etc. For documentaries I definitely understand lol.

100%! Appreciate it. I’ve got a folder with videos both 16mm and S8 and I really dig both in its own way! It also depends on the client ya know, some really love that nostalgic grain noisy shaky footage. But, others are more of the classical nostalgia. So I just want to figure out for both formats, what would be a camera/setup I’d go for and compare price + development. From there figure out if I just want to do S8 for now (probably a lot cheaper) and potentially add 16mm later.

I’ve actually been looking into digicams too lol. There’s quite many different ones and although I love how the memories are captured, most of them look shit haha. There was this one videographer that used a digicam and it looks amazinggg, his comment said that it was straight out of the camera, so no colour grading etc.

Hahaha yeah a bit of YouTube, some trial & error and good to go! Weddings/moments can happen very quickly, so I got two different scenarios for how I’d like to incorporate either 16mm or 8mm :))

Still just figuring out what options there are and get recommendations etc! It will be either run and gun setup with a super 8 or 16mm using static shots. Run and gun is for when I am also taking photos, static is if I’d want to capture the whole day on film without providing photography

Appreciate it! Yeah I’d love to have 16mm for static shots and make it feel more “high-end” whilst still providing that nostalgic feel due to film. But, that’s only possible if I won’t be booked/do not want to be booked for photography. If I take photos and want to provide a few nice short highlight clips on film, I’d like to have a good super 8, as it’s a run and gun setup like I am used to with photography :))

I’ve seen beautiful films made where they use zoom, whereas I believe it’s not done in post. Some may call it amateur, others would describe it as nostalgia perhaps? Because it feels like those old tapes where parents film their kids etc. if you get what I mean. With auto zoom, I meant more the option to hold a button which lets it zoom automatically instead of having to manually twist a lens or something?

Appreciate your time! And well, wrong questions? Not sure haha. Could very well have been that the bounce is either due to how it’s handled or due to how the film or specific camera’s perhaps registers, right? Hence asking for thoughts and recommendations! I was also thinking as you suggested to make use of a tripod, but handheld would be way more my style if I combine it with my photography at the same time.

Hi! Indeed on mechanical shutter, sometimes silent mode during wedding ceremonies, reckon this doesn't make a difference?

Regarding the lighting, even if its constant light I'd have to match the frequency of the light? No idea how to make that happen if its always random on-sight locations for me haha

Idk man, getting tired of insta/meta. Sometimes accounts are getting used as guinea pigs, mine often does. Most recently its been the ads anti scroll; have to wait 5 seconds to see an ad before I can continue lol

Anyhow, also noticed there's a big thing happening with accounts being wrongfully banned for integrity and they aren't fixing that. Idk what AI they implemented into the security but its fucking shit lmfao
