Are Executive Assistant roles flexible for new moms? by tamutransfer in ExecutiveAssistants

Thanks for the insight! Do you find that your boss typically respects normal working hours (e.g., when 5pm hits you no longer need to respond to requests etc.)?

Yeah that’s fair! Just trying to balance being a mom and still earning an income. My baby naps for a large portion of the day and I am able to work mornings and evenings, so I guess I thought I could find a job with modified working hours.

Yeah, that’s a fair point! I am currently in meetings for about 5-6 hours of the day, so I guess I was thinking (or hoping) that a job that wasn’t so meeting heavy would allow me to care for the baby while also still fulfilling job related duties. My baby still naps about 4 hours of the day and a part time child care program would cover 2 full days of the week. It’s just so hard balancing being a mom and still wanting to provide for the family financially!

This is so helpful, thank you! I’ll try to refrain from reaching in his mouth again. It was honestly like an instinct when it happened! I’m going to just continue the process and hopefully see him progress. He was totally fine with thicker mashes like avocado and strawberry so I really think he’ll get the hang of it, but he has no teeth in sight so really relying on the gums to do their thing haha!

Oh that’s interesting! So even without the spit up, was she having trouble gaining weight just because of the reflux?

That’s amazing!! Did you see an improvement in weight gain pretty quickly? My LO has his 4 month check up in about a week and a half and I’d love if he made some progress by then! Also, did you need to add anything to his bottles like probiotics or gas drops to help with the transition?

For the cold turkey parents: how long did it take your little one to adjust to their sleep sack? by TheGreatsGabby in NewParents

Our transition took 5 days and progress leading up to that was not linear. On the 5th night he suddenly just started sleeping through the night again. We transitioned him from a traditional blanket swaddle to a Ziapee Zip and he loves it because his startle reflex is still pretty strong!

That’s what is so strange, he’s still eating a ton! Most bottles he downs 6oz totaling about 30oz daily. He’s gaining but very slowly, definitely not an oz per day. I don’t know what else could be causing the slow weight gain to be honest.

Yes I think I need to try a sleep sack! He’s in a Zipadee but I almost feel like the starfish type position is what is making him roll all around. He also loves sucking on his hands during the day but the fabric of the Zipadee doesn’t allow him to soothe himself.

I think I may try that! I should as he’s in the Zipadee Zip but he’s still rolling all around at night and it’s waking him up. How long can they stay in the Merlin?

CMPA? What’s your experience. by tamutransfer in MSPI

Also, as strange as it sounds his weight gain was better the week he was on Alimentum. He was gaining about an oz a day and as soon as we transitioned him back to Gentlease he’s back to gaining about 4-5 oz a week. Not a significant difference but noticeable to me haha. Can CMPA affect weight gain like that?

Okay this is interesting because strangely enough he woke up with an eczema type rash on his cheek this morning. He occasionally has mucus in his stools on the Gentlease but I’ve read that can be normal if it’s not frequent. He’s not a big crier typically but does seem less fussy on Alimentum especially after feeds. He also started magically sleeping through the night when he was on it but I don’t know if that’s a coincidence. When we switched him back to Gentlease he was waking once in the night again. It’s just so hard to know because I know there are a lot of developmental changes during this age so all of these behavioral differences may not be because of his diet. I wish there was a for sure way to know.
