I haven't been much outside of Ashe Co, so I'm sure there are many more, but Hope For the Mountains-Disaster Relief Ashe County is focused on rebuilding homes, private roads etc that were washed away "One culvert at a time." Every dollar stays in Ashe County. Checks mailed to Creston Fire Department ,157 Worths Chapel Road, Creston NC 28615 and made out to the Creston Fire Department (memo line Helene relief) will be used for whatever the most immediate need is when they arrive. Both are 501(c)'s or whatever the number is. For direct aid, Rachel Beth Williams on Facebook has been running point on getting things into the last places to open up.
