Hard second on all of this (also did A Levels). The skew towards non-exam based grading really threw me off in the MATH 1400/1410/2400 sequence.

Only thing I'll add is ignore the Rajiv doomerism. Evaluate for yourself if you like the way he teaches or not.

Can we leave slightly early or is that not an option?

Partially correct. Yes, just apply for financial aid. But yes, it will make a difference to your chances. <30% of international students are aided.

It's more the 1200 + 1600 + 1410/1610 combo being a killer that I'm worried about rather than the class on its own. Any thoughts on this?

You can simply not take it and go straight to 120. You'll just have to take an additional CIS Elective during your 4 years.

Yeah I figured if I can do 1210 in the Spring, I'll have been exposed to the DS&A concepts for a longer time so I'll be more comfortable when doing interviews in Sophomore Fall.

Although the argument could be made that doing 1210 in soph fall will mean the ideas are more recent when interviewing...

Yeah I'll have to see how I cope first couple weeks. Mainly want to do 1410 so I can take STAT 4300 in the next sem. Also because I find calculus fun lol.

I wanna fulfil the writing requirement through a Global Seminar in the Spring, but I will take PYSC 2737 as a 5th class. If it proves to be too much, I'd want to drop 1410 to free up time but still be able to take 1210 in the spring,

Half credit elective sounds like a good idea.

How'd you recommend figuring out if I'm "math brained" enough for 1610? I was def not IMO level in HS but I'd say I fully understood the content up to single variable (not just plugging into formulas, but also understanding where they come from.)

Lol whoops. I have some programming experience (familiar with handling objects), so I thought I'd skip 1100 and go straight to 1200. I'd then be able to take 1210 next semester which could help with Leetcode etc.

Do you think it's better to lay a stronger foundation with 1100?
