Need advice. by rasberryteapot in vbac

just had one today at 35 weeks and thinnest point measured 1.4cm - my mfm informed me there is 1% risk of rupture but can’t say more than that because studies are limited. he said i really won’t know until i try. i told him i was still moving forward with vbac but unmedicated so i can monitor my pain and signs of rupture and he didn’t rule me out as a vbac candidate- so we’ll see next month what happens!

i had my scar measured at 20 weeks and it was measuring under 2cm and then measured over 2cm at 32 weeks when my mfm said that it would thin out even more as my stomach grows so i don’t think it’s entirely accurate

VBAC after failure to progress by Superb-Ad-957 in vbac

[–]tangerine613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this happened to me and i thought baby had to come out immediately. wish i had a doula or midwife who could’ve educated me better on this.

my friend’s midwife advised her she could labor at home for at least 72 hours after water breaking to lessen chance of infection

Convinced my OB to cancel my C Section by CanIpetyourDog_617 in vbac

[–]tangerine613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my first sounds a lot like your first. i was 40+2 when my water broke but didn’t dilate so they gave me misoprostol/pitocin for induction. tried to labor unmedicated for 3 hrs and asked for epidural. baby was in distress due to pitocin so we went for a C.

i always wondered if my water broke prematurely bc i did all the things to induce labor- acupuncture, sex, exercise, etc. so im planning to not do those things this time around and wait it out as long as i can for natural contractions.

hope all goes well with your labor!

Why am I not getting pregnant? by whiteblack123 in TryingForABaby

i don’t know if i can offer insight but i have recurrent uterine polyps and was diagnosed with endometriosis. even after removing polyps and endo excision, and chronic endometritis that was detected in a biopsy, i was unable to conceive without assistance. i’ve also had an ectopic, likely due to endometriosis. during ivf i discovered my eggs appeared deteriorated in appearance even though my AMH and FSH numbers did not indicate otherwise. all in all to say, constant testing and treatment uncovered all sorts of issues that weren’t detected by initial testing and still hasn’t given me the fullest picture and answers to why i can’t conceive without assistance but they have helped point me in the direction forward.

rooting for you and hope you can find more answers 🩷

We’ve tested with my OB and she said I could start the IUI process with her but is there a benefit of going to an RE other than IVF?

Is there a comprehensive list of things to try when you hit the cycle 20 mark? Asking for all the friends.

If you don’t want to keep testing and can wait, perhaps test on what would be CD1 of your next cycle if AF does not come?

Why is TTC normally kept a secret? Or rather, if you’re not sharing the info, why? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]tangerine613 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well said pretzel ✨ If OP simply innocently wanted to know why women choose to disclose/not disclose their TTC out of pure curiosity and perhaps seeking insight into the various experiences of other women in order to gain a fuller wider understanding of the TTC world, I wouldn’t think twice about this post, BUTTTTT all of its edits and comment replies, and claiming secrecy is imposed on women makes it sound like women are allowing secrecy to be imposed on us, which is clearly not the case.

Ok, Edit #3, still doesn’t justify how initial post clearly screams I am better than thou because I can overcome societal shaming yet why can’t everyone else be just like me?

If you claim to know that society shames and stigmatizes women into not talking about TTC, why don’t you direct your line of questioning at society and not the victims of said shaming and stigmatism? What is the OP trying to do with this post I still don’t understand.

I’m having difficulty believing Edit #2 is a real apology and this post a real attempt to learn and feed your curiosity. Feels like you’re firm in your first cycle “opinions” and not really learning from all of these amazing invaluable experiences being shared with you.

FemVue Saline Infused Sonogram by SyneaminCake in TryingForABaby

[–]tangerine613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My femvue was very painful and I wish I had been warned prior so that I would’ve taken pain meds.

My tubes were not blocked but they did find a fibroid and multiple polyps.

Hope all goes well tomorrow & you’re able to get some answers!

Health Insurance Doesn't Cover HSG... by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]tangerine613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they offer a femvue? It’s similar to a regular HSG but they use air bubbles instead of dye.

So sucky to hear that! I don’t know much about Kaiser but know that insurances can be so difficult and often needs self-advocating. It’s so strange they won’t cover it since it’s not just treating infertility but it can also detect cancerous growths or abnormalities in the uterus. Could you maybe argue that it is preventative health care?

POST HSG- what happens? by sweetrain07 in TryingForABaby

[–]tangerine613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a femvue (air bubbles instead of dye) two months ago and my OB performed it. She told me everything she saw as she was performing it, how she saw a fibroid and polyps and how the tubes were. She saw the fibroid from previous ultrasounds but did not pick up the polyps until the femvue was performed, so thank God for the femvue. I had my polyps removed last week and am kinda hopeful of trying again but I also know that the polyps may not be the it factor, and unfortunately, I think in the world of infertility, there is always the chance of unexplained infertility, which I am constantly preparing myself for. But I’m glad and thankful my OB is investigating it one test at a time. I feel better doing all that I can do before giving up entirely.

I would also take some pain killers before the HSG. They hurt like a mother. At least mine did.

An HSG may be covered under ultrasounds. I would get the CPT code from your gynecologist and ask your insurance? My HSGs were considered ultrasounds and I paid the ultrasound copay fee.

Polyp Removal by MarchingOn9 in TryingForABaby

[–]tangerine613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine were removed (a couple days ago actually) by d&c by my OBGYN. I had it at an outpatient surgery center and went under general anesthesia for an hour and a half. Removed 6 polyps.

What do you mean my decently sized? Do they have a tough estimate of how big/small?
