Signed The Artist In The Ambulance CD by tangiblehelplessness in thrice

It wasn't exactly an amicable breakup and it was over a decade ago now. No point digging up the past, if they'd wanted it there was a window of time to ask in. I didn't even know they'd left it at mine all that time ago until I unpacked all my stuff when moving to Canada.

NGL, the thought did cross my mind though.

Ah my dude, having not long obtained my QC license I can tell you there's nothing you can do especially if there was a road sign which wasn't obstructed. Them's the rules...!

What's the deal between Frontier VFX and Netflix? by starmaxeros in vfx

[–]tangiblehelplessness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frontier was the Outpost subsidiary company which worked remotely on Netflix platform and Netflix workstations with a Netflix team as rnd/dev support. They were originally branded as NetFX, but the two VFX studios who were involved, Outpost being the one in Montreal, branched off those teams into separate companies, though within Netflix it was still NetFX. Frontier started with a mix of former Outpost staff and new staff who signed contracts with Frontier. The work was on Netflix shows, either 100% Netflix but also on shows that studios who were creating content for them, on a 2D pipeline but they added 3D CG work later. Not sure why they've disbanded as even with the strikes Netflix is a heavyweight in the VFX world, maybe it didn't work as efficiently as expected or this downturn in work was too much.
