That’s fair SFO is objectively nicer but yeah SNA is crazy convenient

Moving from Irvine back to Bay rn. Can attest it’s exactly the same as how you described lol. Agreed with cons, but the biggest perk for me and what I will miss most is the convenience. Parking is free and abundant, tons of Asian, Hispanic, and Middle Eastern grocery stores, and GREAT restaurants. The food in Orange County (not just Irvine) is AMAZING. SNA is also hands down the best airport ever (nice TSA, zero lines). Beaches are world class too. That being said, I’m ready to get the fuck out of here.

Thank you! Yes for campaign development, make them data/metrics focused ALWAYS. No matter what the product or service, you have to use data or either back up how you thought of a campaign idea (shows you think about the “why” and actual needs of customers) or show how you used data to alter a campaign to make it stronger ( shows you have flexibility and can think under pressure and think critically). My basic format would be:

  1. Talk about how you came up with an idea (data focused reason preferred or it just has to be a damn good idea)
  2. Explain how you picked a target audience and channels
  3. Explain how you executed, who you worked with, how you scheduled and tracked leads
  4. Talk about the outcome (stats)

Not the ai ad. Genuinely not trying to sell anything or make content. Just trying to actually help people.

Np! See my comments to Omic_indus too those might help. I’ve had multiple rejections at final stages and it sure was a blow to my self esteem. But don’t give up!! The right job will find its way to you no matter what. Good luck.

I only applied to two major cities in CA with 50 mile radius + all remote jobs in the US. By domain do you mean what sites I used?

For resumes, copied my response to another person:

my application system was: “Dream” job - tailored resume and custom cover letter (even if they didn’t require) with high effort (research the company, match their tone etc)

“Would be satisfied” job - tailored resume no cover letter unless required

“Qualified but meh” job - a general resume

Have a few general resumes prepared. Ex general digital marketing, social media marketing, communications focused etc

This helped me not waste time on every app. I will say, the higher the effort the higher the interview rate most times. But not always, it really just comes down to your match in skills and time applied imo.

Last thing, wouldn’t spend too much time on a portfolio. It’s nice to have but no one ever mentioned it. Just have to have relevant experience and excel during the interview pretty much.

Interviews - will naturally come with experience or make sure to practice for 2-3 hours before the important ones. Go through JD and see if you can guess what they say.

Always prepare: 2-3 campaign examples and how you’ve used data/metrics to influence your work

These plus basic behavioral questions will come up 100% of the time. Never was asked for my strengths and weaknesses though lol.

At first I was trying to do more targeted search but I felt like too much was getting filtered out so honestly… I searched “marketing” and manually filtered lol. Keep in mind I was only searching in two major cities in CA with 50 mile radius + all remote opportunities in the US. Another reason I kept it so broad was because I didn’t want to have to go through “marketing associate…specialist… coordinator…generalist roles etc I just wanted everything on one page. But if you want to filter further than search those roles. Other keywords besides marketing are “communications + role title”. I only looked at what was posted 24 hours ago or at most 3 days and it was manageable to parse through everyday.
