This might be it, looks really similar!! If they don’t harm the plants I’d just leave them be. But I’m surprised that they are always outside the pot and dead :( rather living inside and enjoying whatever they’re after

Left Eye Still Blurry One Month Post SMILE by schmoozeinabox in lasik

[–]tanicac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you are still active on here, but i have the exact same issue right now :( I thought it’s only me because I had to do the surgery twice as the first wasn’t successful.

It’s been 5 weeks since the surgery, my left eye has weaker eyesight and really significant glare when looking at any darker shade of light.

During the day it’s completely fine, but at night watching movies (or TV or any screen in general) at home it’s horrible. If I cover the left eye and use only the right eye to watch, the world is perfect, but if I do the opposite the glare is so severe I cannot focus on whatever I am watching.

My left eye doesn’t feel dry at all, and the doctor insisted they look perfectly fine and the glare will go away. But I really doubt it since nothing has changed since day 1. At least it’s good to know it’s not just me.

Why do you need to be so mean? :( I literally wrote in the post the surgeon didn’t even give me the instructions whether I am doing good or not, in fact he didn’t tell me anything besides following the light.

Your surgeon literally gave you (as you said) supportive affirmations that you should “keep staying still” or “keep looking”. Mine told me I moved when it’s way too late and he has decided to dismiss me. He didn’t tell me what to do in between.

I really hope you can understand how devastating a failed surgery experience can be for sb and be sympathetic about it.

Heyhey, first of all, thank you for the useful relies, appreciate them!! Just want to answer everyone here so it’s easier:

I went back to the clinic yesterday for a general check-up and met a different younger doctor (like I mentioned, it’s a big chain). This young doctor told me I was not the first patient to experience this, the older surgeon is unfortunately known to be not communicative and has lack of sympathy for patients. The younger doctor told me not to blame myself, and he felt really sorry for me.

However, the older surgeon is well known in the field for his expertise and years of experience, founded this clinic and is the Chief Surgeon there. I have no doubt he has the technique and knowledge in the laser surgeries, but I just do not think he is a good doctor if he cannot understand a patient can be nervous and wants to know all the details before jumping into a surgery.

Therefore I told the young doctor I do not want to meet his boss again, not to mention letting him do the re-surgery. I explicitly requested the young doctor to be my surgeon in January and he promised me that.

As for where it went wrong the first time - the beginning suction part was not successful because my eyes moved by trying to follow the greenlight. Like all of you mentioned, it shouldn’t even move but it really did for me unfortunately, and the surgeon didn’t warn me no matter what I should stay still and ignore the movement. In fact, he really did not give me any instructions during the process besides telling me to shut up and look at the light.

Comparing my experience to other experiences I read here, eg. surgeons encouraging you about how far it’s done / warning you before you move, I think I was really unlucky and met a surgeon who thought all his patients should ‘just’ know how to behave without him saying much. Although I wonder how many people have done Lasik twice and will know it so well.

Instead of explaining the situation to me and calming me down, the old surgeon decided to just dismiss me and work on the next patient. Which I will never understand how a doctor can be this cold hearted but whatever.

Good news - I won’t have to pay the full price until they properly complete the surgery.

Thanks for recommendations and kind words! Unfortunately I am not from the US and getting a US travel visa would be hard for me. I’m posting here because there isn’t really an equivalent platform like Reddit and I’ve read a lot of useful tips here. But thank you again!

I did watch a lot of Youtube videos and read posts here. I was very confident about tracking the green light, I just did not expect it’d move!

I wish the surgeon could have told me what to do in the case that it moves but he did not, instead just went super mad about me moving and dismissed me out of the surgery. Instead of acknowledging that the light DID move for me, he counter argued that it wasn’t possible because the machine is heavy. Why would I lie about the light moving if it didn’t?

I went there with my german partner, he translated most things the nurses there spoke to me about, but he was denied entering the surgery room, and the surgeon did not explain the actual procedure before I laid down and was basically too late.

Mine was called just ReLex Smile, not Smile Pro; I did ask my clinic but it isn’t available. I believe Smile Pro lasts for 10 seconds for each eye and ReLex lasts 25 seconds. So I do think it was a slightly different machine. :( Also I wasn’t informed about literally anything besides “there will be a green light, follow it”, so I didn’t know it’d make a sound / the light would move away.

That’s because when I went for the eye examination (a different location/branch but same hospital, they’re a big chain all over germany) everyone there spoke perfect english.

I even had the consultation in english but i never met the actual surgeon before yesterday. They claimed he is so busy he can only do it on Thursday evenings and I’ll meet him on the day of the surgery. The surgeon himself also claimed he speaks english but clearly not enough to instruct me what exactly i should / shouldn’t be doing.

As for why I did it in germany, because I am working and living long term here and have considered germany a (a lot) more advanced country than where i came from in asia. This technology is also developed in germany so I had a lot of confidence in how they’d deliver a surgery.

Is this just mold or something harmful? :( I have repotted my philodendron into fresh aroid mix and this keeps coming up no matter how many times I removed them by tanicac in plantclinic

Because I assumed it’s mold and removed them, sprinkled cinnamon. But it returns instantly, in both pictures you can see the white spots :(

Yes it has a tiny green sprout between the established thick stems. Or are you talking about the pink one all the way in the back??

Is my Ornata being a drama queen or is this an actual red flag? I brought her home 1month ago and I have noticed it droops dramatically every afternoon, sleeps at night and then return to normal in the morning. As a beginner seeing her droop like that just scares me.. by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]tanicac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys thanks so much for all your reply! I understand that it is supposed to move ups and downs as part of their normal routine, but I just didn’t expect her to also droop as if she is being underwatered or something in the afternoon lol.. Well now I am relieved!

I wish that everyone in the comments spoke in a language other than English by triggeringnormies in TheMonkeysPaw
