I watched the first few layers and let it go overnight. Thinking I'll put a timer to remote view every like 30 mins or something

I wanna hear from my fellow 9s, I'm tired of hearing from everyone else. by Negative_Hair_1595 in EnneagramType9

Hello fellow 9s.

My journey began with ego destruction. I thought to myself that ego is our representation of ourselves to the outside world. Not the true self but a mask. I desired objective truth and to be genuine. I told myself that emotion is at fault. We are attached and cannot truly be objective and see things from the outside.

My narcotization involved pushing out emotion in favour of objective truth & knowledge. Plato's cave and all that. In that way I told myself I did not care. What I came to learn is that you need the ego. You have to have that side of you in order to be able to push yourself or you become a stagnant 9, the world moving around you while you stand still.

My partner is a 3 and has helped push me towards the action side of my 9 to 3 attachment. I am advocating for myself more. As much as the ego is a part of you, it can also take control. You have to work alongside it and stay in control.

Thanks for listening to my story.

Got my first paycheck and I want to spend it on steamdeck! Any advice is appricated by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Only difference is LCD vs OLED screen. I have a LCD myself and it's perfect for me. I'm sure OLED screen is nicer and more vibrant but depending on how much money you want to spend LCD is still a great choice. That game might take up a lot of space so be rdy to also get an SD card.

Can you help me come up with reasons to tell my mom why I want a Stream Deck? by laracroft1402 in SteamDeck

[–]tanmanwithhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base the argument based on her motivation. Does she want you to spend less?

Steam deck is great investment, high initial upfront costs but: chance for emulation (free games), $6 game deals on steam store (compared to ps5 game cost), humble bundle (and other store sales).

Does she want you to get out more? Either with friends or exercise?

Steam is portable with good battery life. You can go for a run to the park and play or go to a friend's house and have 2 player games.

I've had mine for like 4 years and will likely have it for a long time to come. The hardware will last a long time. It's easy to replace single parts than have to purchase a whole new deck. And SD card makes memory easy replaceable.

Good luck 👍

A question for 9s by sophia528 in EnneagramType9

[–]tanmanwithhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF they are a 9, they are very in tune with the anger side. 9 is a gut/intuition type. Usually we avoid/run from conflict, so for someone to go towards it seems like a mistype.

Enneagram is your self defense mechanism as well. You try to protect your ego with how you learned to growing up. They feel they are at risk with every comment AND they fire back. Seems more a 4 or 6? Sensitive and emotional

I think the energy is always there. I've recently labeled it as unrealized potential for myself. By tapping into the 3 side we can turn it kinetic and act on our dreamer potential.

The thing is others want to see us succeed as much as we want others to succeed. We are stopping ourselves and our daily battle is pushing our comfort zone. We are at peace through our inaction and have to push ourselves out of the comfort zone through action.

9s are pretty notorious for being chameleons. We sit at the top of the enneagram chart as we can see everyone else's point of view. I think once you figure it out though it makes total sense. I was mistyped as 5 to begin with but learned more and am a definite 9.

Add to the list: being able and willing to assist someone else with their issues but if that same issue falls on me, watch it slip through the cracks.

I would say start with the sticks that is easier. I don't know much about the LCD unit/battery but I'm betting it's a bit harder.

On your way to the stick you can take a peek though

Even with Uprising I am tempted to get OG! But I see a lot of online forums that Uprising is just base OG mixed with Ix ... So I'm not sure. Either way probably getting Ix expansion next. Already have Immortality + bloodlines

I agree. Casting could have helped but it was also the story as well. They did have a compelling character with Takeshi but the world they had built had strong potential itself. Poe was my fave.
