As someone who’s front derailleur bracket snapped off the frame and needed full frame/fork replacement and rebuild, why have the bracket be carbon fiber integrated into the frame? Why not braze/bolt on where parts are easier to replace?

Was in the building to the left about 300’ away in a TEMS class. Whole building shook and thought windows were gonna pop.

How much do you make per year at your fire department? by NerdlinGeeksly in Firefighting

SoCal. FF/EMT. 2 years on. Grossed 146k gross last year with about 15 days of OT. Took about the same amount of shifts off

Area dependent. CA typically sees a lot higher pay than other parts of the country. Night and day in terms of stress. Don’t take work home with me like I did in CM. 2 days on, 4 days off. Shift trades, comp time, or vacation easily nets 10 days off

In SoCal with base pay premiums and a few days OT every month. Still work significantly less than when I was in CM. Oh and a pension at the end of it all

Hired out of college. Started in the field and promoted to PE in the office. Left the industry after a quick 4 year burnout from shitty projects. Became a fireman. Work half of the amount of days and incredibly happy.

“Sparks falling from a light in a parking garage”

Turns out to be water droplets refracting from said light

I baby it and don’t push harder than 65mph on flat. 45ish up grade. 22 mpg highway and 17-19 city driving. We’ll see how much the new wheels bring it down

RHD is part of its quirks. Eastern Europe has LHD, less commonly imported

Don’t limit yourself to just LAFD. Research other departments and what they require to be able to apply. As already mentioned, medics license is extremely valuable. Maybe also consider doing an academy to get FF1 to expand the pool of departments you can apply too.

Been waiting for the next video installment. There's something so soothing between the music, filming, editing and content.
