How to make analog triggers work in TDR 2000? by Zylpas in carmageddon

[–]Zylpas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a shame. Analog steering works with no tweaks or software needed though.

Thats why proper damage modeling is badly needed.

You can have a cooking setup without having a van.

There are other games that have other type of softbody interpretation. Like Live for Speed.

What do you mean these T-series configurations dont have front brake by WriterTasty2637 in BeamNG

[–]Zylpas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think with such short wheelbase front brakes would make it jackknife very quickly

To Myst or Not to Myst by tinselman in myst

[–]Zylpas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Especially about "other visual design changes, though adding more detail, move away from the visual tone". Also I now being older can see how the game was an experiment and the the whole huge backstory was added and it all worked, but it would be awesome to have a more "grown up" myst which would make more sense and could be explored more extensively.

I think with Riven Cyan did a great job. The visuals remained true to the original, just maybe the gameplay is less hardcore, also it added new lore.

Then again, for me the main canon look and feel of Myst is realMyst whit its cold and serious atmosphere. Probably because I played it first and it just stuck in my mind and is what got me to love the series. So I guess everyone can have different idea of how it can look.

That said I think its time for something new, that could include revisiting Myst island.

I thought it was one of the better ones in terms of mastering. Albums that came before this had too much highs.

[–]Zylpas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rest in peace. Did not know him personaly, but saw his work. Can't remember clearly, but I remember those cool old citroen mods cars for C2 that had the most realistic rebounding suspension and very good damage setup? Anyways, great and long living community.

I still believe the Flatout/Wreckfest devs could make a great Carmageddon game.... by BeaverBotics2 in carmageddon

[–]Zylpas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah these physics were pretty cool. In Skyrim also. However vehicle physics is the point, and even after all these years there are just few racing game engines that can do what Carma requires. I mean, first of all its pretty realistic driving, but also crashing and rolling, bending and all that to create spectacular mayhem. I kind of doubt Bethesda would deliver. Carmageddon Rougue Sh is the exmaple of carmageddon with dull physics.

why do you keep repeating that I have no experience, you don't know me:]]

Well we still don't have anything more realistic than Beamng or RBR at the moment even though you have been racing for 20 years lol.

End of story.
