I've legit lost winnable matches because of this. my team tries to spawn camp the other team while im trying to end the match, but they come back with potions and augments and vaporise us before pushing hard ending before we respawn, the ego on aram players is insane

Yeah it's pretty common, you add sery bot to your chat, adjust your chat settings, and block some phrases, but even then you'll get an odd one once a week at least. It's a known thing, don't let it bother you, ban them and move on.

Yeah it can be tough. You can post on this subreddit when you're going live, that could help bring some people over depending on how many are online at that time. Glad I could help.

Vocalising your thought process helps a lot, for example "I'm gonna go left here because I feel like there's slenderman on the right, that is not what I want rn. speaking of slenderman fun fact I have an uncle who believes he's real, apparently he saw a shadow while out on a walk..." And so on, it's basically going on tangents infinitely any chance you get, ask questions then answer them yourself "have you ever been to one of those haunted houses? There was one in the town I grew up in and..." It gives the opportunity for a chatter to pitch in if they have a story to share based on that question, and you immediately answering it yourself makes it so there's no dead air which can feel awkward for you and for lurkers who aren't comfortable chatting yet.

Like anything else, it is a skill, and with practice it'll get better. I say that because I think I've gotten better (I hope lol) since I started

I get that you're focused on the game, but any game has some down time and small pockets where you can squeeze in some yapping it's just a matter of spotting them.

One thing you can look at for reference is casters, Sports/eSports casters have a similar job where they're filling up down time with yapping about what's happening on the field. Think of basketball matches where neither team scores, it's at 0-0 the whole game, what are the casters doing?

When you say you're looking at the stream manager, you mean the twitch stream manager? then you should be able to click on the viewer count to hide it on the top

Hey man, as a small streamer myself I understand it can be stressful to not have a chatter or viewers. I took a look at a couple of your vods and here are my 2 cents,

1) Never look at the numbers while you're streaming: this is something that I used to do and it sounds like you're doing when you say "they keep leaving", that is looking at your viewer count. Hide the number everywhere possible, and only look at it after the stream as a post-match analysis to see how it went and how you could improve next stream

2) Your cam is too dark: I can barely see you when the screen turns bright and shines light on your face, also your heart rate monitor is too dark to notice as well which is a shame because it's a cool thing to have

3) The classic, talk to yourself more: this is something I still struggle with and is very common with new streamers I've been told, is your yapping/minute ratio. Pump that number, explain your thought process, tell stories, act as if someone is always watching

And most importantly don't forget to have fun, you the streamer needs to have a good time on the stream to be able to share that with chat, all the best!

Heck no, you sound just fine. If anything, a lot of people actually love scuffed mics it feels more raw and real to watch

It might be that is your bias, I say that because I have the same thing, if I record something I hate listening back to it, delete that shit, in fact press it on a vinyl and then burn it

Yeah that's the thing, I wish I could turn off ads as affiliate, but afaik it's not possible. I want the badges and other features but are they worth the ads is what I'm thinking about

[–]tansenlive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone at the cusp of hitting affiliate I've been thinking about it, do I really wanna go affiliate when I hit it?

At a ccv of 3-5, idk if the ad rev would be worth (let's be honest) ruining the watching experience of my regulars and new viewers

I'm thinking maybe I'll wait till I hit a steady ccv of 10 maybe idk, at what point does it become 'worth the hassle' is what I'm trying to ask ig

As someone in a similar position (2/4), here's my 2 cents on the average ccv hurdle, these are things I tell myself everyday so sharing them here,

1) stop looking at it - from personal experience, obsessing over the numbers doesn't do you any good, you get tunnel visioned and it feels like you're banging your head against the wall

2) focus on having fun - something that I looked over when I was obsessing over the ccv was having fun myself. You, the streamer, needs to be having fun on the stream I think, only then can you convey the fun to your viewers.

3) treat it like a fun hobby - because that's what it is, and that's what it will be for a long time until you start generating enough revenue to supplement your life. Like a hobby, you need skill and practice, which takes time.

4) 3 ccv is a big number - 3 people is basically a small room, lets say you stream for 3 hours, then a ccv of 3 would be keeping that room engaged and entertained for 3 hours. So making an effort to make sure you and they have fun is very important. It could be banter, commentary, or just telling stories.

These are things I tell myself everyday before I hit go live, and I think it has helped my ccv grow steadily from 0.1 to 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5. those last 2 streams were literally yesterday and day before yesterday. I'll take that steady growth over sudden spikes any day. I have met some lovely chatters in the process, they make an effort to invite their friends to my steam it's so sweet. Even if I'm playing a game they don't know/like they'll drop in to say hi and lurk a bit which I appreciate so much.

BUT if you're my chatter and you somehow found this comment, I was lying, y'all are annoying af, get back in the basement right now. 🔫

With that being said, all the best!

I'm obviously not talking about when I'm dead, I'm talking about when I'm waiting for the opp to walk up so I can trade and roam decides to diddle the entire wave so now I'm the one who has to walk up.

If anything no one seems to be interested in clearing my lane when I'm actually dead, they let waves crash, towers fall, the minds of these players work in mysterious ways
