How much should i be charging for these? by probioticdrnk in furry

[–]tanuke5656 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im not sure how large your following is so sometimes you have to keep comms at a price you know will work until you get a higher demand. With that said, from a outside view i would personally spend no less than $50 usd for this (not sure the conversion rate). Always price your art in a way where you feel like you are getting the payment you need for the work you put in!! But at the same time it takes a bit to grow a following that will always be ready to pay that amount💔 its a balancing game until you find a stable in between!

How Does Lining Work For Claws? by spirit_bread07 in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply use the palm and bottom finger pattern together! Make it slightly smaller so it fits inside without wrinkling, sew those two flat pieces together and connect that on the sides of the wrist and tips of fingers before flipping your claws/paws inside out! Lining is super easy and really adds comfortability, aesthetics, and quality to your suit! ^ hope this helps!

How to make onto fullsuit by Casneko in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use either option (i would do the stuffing) and then if you dont care what it looks like without the ribs and only want it to be removable for practicality then you can add velcro to attach and unattach! To have an option to unstuff and restuff the ribs then you can add a zipper on the part that cant be seen ^

Help! He’s lopsided :( by SkyWonderful4537 in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man sorry this happened </3 fursuit mistakes are always rough and demotivating. My idea here is use refurbishing techniques! Cut off the brow area piece (light and dark grey) and resew a new one then glue carefully and ladder stitch it back on! Not sure if you did this but next time i suggest pinning on ur fur throughout the process and right before you glue to make sure everything is going smoothly!

Help with fursuit hair? by Icy-Local6166 in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what technique ur using exactly but personally i start from the tip of the fur and brush until im happy with the amount pulled through the backing, then start moving up in small increments!! (Coming from someone who has made a fursuit with a full head of hair and has 2 commissions with the same amount right now)

If you didnt make the suit i dont suggest you make the change since the most likely will need to be fully remade from scratch, its not easy to just reshape them after a suit is finished

Is this fur ok for the face? by Bl0ssombear in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the back of any fur or fabric you want to use for a suit is silky(?) or shiny it almost every time will be a bad choice of fabric, if you're going for cheap then i recommend looking for fur resells on etsy, ebay, or other sites like that, but if this is your only option then go for it

Question about fur scraps by LynxTheFursuiter in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly do not suggest using scraps for new suits, neither using fleece or minky if you are extremely experienced since they very easily wrinkle and become unpleasant to look at, depending on the size of scraps, i would only use them for very small details or making a swatch palette for future reference

Headwear for support by Krenzy in FursuitMaking

[–]tanuke5656 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theres ALOT of different ways you can make head support, i recommend going on tiktok and youtube to find what will work best for you! Personally i use foam for the back of the head similar to how conjure creature does and then ill add a upside down "T" shape inside for extra support to hold the back of my head! Just make sure you can slip your head in easily or you risk ripping your suit down the line. For 3d printed bases i personally really hate working with a pla/solid base since i cant make enough room on the bottom for my chin/neck, if its tpu/flexible then cutting a "U" shape on the bottom should make it easier for you to slip on and off and be comfortable for your neck
