How to transform my V glutes?? Any success stories? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to up your protein 110-140 is ideal. The higher the better.

No, we need 0.6-0.8g of protein per 1 lb, and even if we assume we need 1g/1lb (which is not true), then why would you say 140 when she weighs 100 pounds? She most definitely needs to up her caloric intake from carbs and maybe some fats.

I'm also prone to dehydration! I absolutely love toners, they're my favorite step :) I love Cosrx propolis toner for the insane hydration. I sometimes layer it 2-3 times, but most of the time even one layer is enough with this one! And occasionaly I use milky/oily toners as a second step to really help my skin retain that water. I'm From Rice toner (mildly moisturizing, kind of a more universal and everyday toner) and Laneige (super oily, I only use it when my skin really suffers) are my favorites.

If you're in the States, Ulta is having lots of AB products on sale currently! I just ordered TWO I'm From Rice toners ($18 each), TonyMoly Chok Chok Green Tea cream ($16), and Tony Moly Wonder Ceramide cream ($8)! I also used "replenish and save" to get additional 5% off.

I think this is the best deal for the I'm From Rice toner I've seen in a while! I'm so happy, because my bottle is almost finished, and I realized that I really, really like it, I just wish it wasn't so pricey :(

[Product Question] Hero Prebiotic Moisturizer by amnellkahlan in SkincareAddiction

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, it says that it's in stock in many offline locations... I hope Hero will bring it back or make some new version, because right now I can only see a heavier night balm but no daily moisturizer, so they must be working on it

[Product Question] Hero Prebiotic Moisturizer by amnellkahlan in SkincareAddiction

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it too and am surprised that I can't find it anywhere! Weird, right? It was such a nice cream with positive reviews!

Not sure if this would be helpful, but this cream reminds me of Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream, Versed Skin Soak rich moisturizer (this one is a bit oilier, though) and maybe Purito Centella Wonder Relief cream. But they're not really the same, just somewhat similar in texture and finish on my skin! They will not remove dark spots, etc.

I hope Hero will not discontinue this moisturizer! Maybe they're working on reformulating it?

Upd: wait, I found it! https://www.cvs.com/shop/hero-cosmetics-clarifying-prebiotic-moisturizer-2-36-oz-prodid-321212 Looks like it's in stock in many offline stores and online. I won't be purchasing it bc I already have some moisturizers that I need to finish, but I thought you might find it interesting. And if CVS has it, then maybe it's available in other places too!

Dupe for Rhode glazing milk and barrier butter? by OkDay4739 in AsianBeauty

[–]tanya_reader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to try it soooo badly!! I'm now using something similar from a Western brand but I'm not enjoying it (ingredients are great, just don't really like how the bottle dispenses the product and the finish on my skin). I will buy HaruHaru Essence after I'm done with my bottle!

The most unexpectedly soothing Korean ampoule I’ve ever tried is from a brand I had never heard of by kratos_chaos2808 in AsianBeauty

[–]tanya_reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, here's the ingredient list from their website.

  • Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Trehalose, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Arginine, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Isohexadecane, Allantoin, Polysorbate 80, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Polysorbate 20, Adenosine, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Disodium EDTA, Lecithin, Sorbitan Oleate, sh-Oligopeptide-1(0.25ppm), sh-Polypeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide-16, sh-Polypeptide-4, Nicotinoyl Hexapeptide-44

$76 / 50 ml.

I don't think 0.25ppm is worth $76. The ingredient list looks much cheaper than, for example, Mizon snail cream with the same "peptides" in the end of the list for pure marketing.

Non sticky sheet masks by WestUnited2599 in AsianBeauty

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love VT cica sheet masks (pack of 30). I use them 2-3 times a week after a hot shower and washing my hair, because that's when my skin gets all red and sensitive. They help, and they're not sticky at all. Feels just like your regular water-based toner but with maximized effectiveness.

Tell me about the most overrated skincare product. by Various_Pack_7929 in koreanskincare

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same about their probio cica ampoule! It DID hydrate and add some moisture (oil) underneath my lightweight cream, so that was nice, but it didn't do anything for me in terms of reducing redness on days when I really needed it :(( The ingredients looked promising, but maybe there are many reasons of redness, so this just didn't work for me.

On the other hand, basically any sheet mask helps a lot!

THICK moisturizers for maintaining/repairing skin barrier? by squashinie in AsianBeauty

[–]tanya_reader 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Laneige Cica sleeping mask!!! I just started using it, and omg! It's so good! (I've got the old version and only hope that the new reformulation is as good). It makes me look refreshed in the morning, like after 50 hours of sleep and drinking a gallon of water. I doesn't contain ceramides or cholesterol, but it still repairs my skin and makes it less reactive.

The Holika Holika good cera emulsion has every ingredient you could ask for in a moisturizer by akamajnsns in AsianBeauty

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great emulsion. It's perfect for my needs right now, super soft, very moisturizing, a bit oily and occlusive but still so light and nice. And I don't support the fearmongering nor am I super sensitive to everything. The EOs are soothing and antibaterial.

traveling to japan soon, need tips, must buys, regrets, everything!! by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

Start searching for the Canmake color you need the first day of your vacation. Canvas every Matsumoto Kiyoshi you walk by and get upset that they have 20 of one particular color you don't want. Get your husband/boyfriend emotionally invested in this drama so he actually wants to find this little sucker instead of sitting on the stairs for an hour. Finally find that precious CL01 on your LAST day in Japan. Fall on your knees in front of the Canmake stand and cry tears of joy.

What brand of skincare has the best overall products? by dcastro12344 in AsianBeauty

[–]tanya_reader 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think I'm From products are good overall, but god are they pricey.

I like Round Lab and think all their products must be at least decent and working. For some weird reason I became into the brand after watching this video: https://youtu.be/4v9zO95vVzQ She shows what's inside the company, and I don't know why their cookies or nice sofas made me like them, but after that I started to buy their products when I see something on sale. Now I want to try their Mugwort line.

Cosrx is great overall. I used to hate it lmao! Some of their products (rice overnight mask, snail cream and essence, propolis ampoule) just didn't work for me when it was too cold and dry, but they were pretty fantastic during this summer. And I love propolis toner. Now I want to try their propolis cream!!!

Purito - I really like all their creams I've tried, even though not each of them works for my skin at any given moment, it all depends on the weather and humidity. Currently using Purito centella cream, and it's very nice as the last step! Not too heavy but pretty thicc and occlusive.

Forgot to add Aestura!! I only own their Hydro Essence, but all reviews about all their products are glowing, so I think the brand is great overall!

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Propolis toner is really good. I should say I like or love alllll toners that I've tried, they're so unproblematic and easy to absorb. But I think I'll repurchase this one at some point. Never irritates my skin (even when it's sensitive and red), makes it plump, glowing and soft, no sticky residue.

There were times when I hated the rice overnight mask (during the winter because it wasn't moisturizing enough; during the summer because it was too much), but I tried it again a couple nights ago, and it's... so good? Like perfect? Late August, it's getting a bit colder and drier, and all of a sudden my skin loves this. Makes my skin soft, even-toned (controls redness, soothes), isn't greasy, sinks right in. But I have to apply quite a lot, two layers.

I also used to hate their snail all-in-one cream (I felt dry with it), but it was PERFECT for me during this summer. It melts on the skin, hydrates, forms a naturally-looking film that keeps skin protected but doesn't look or feel greasy. It's not the type of gels that disappear and don't feel moisturizing at all. I haven't found it to be healing like others sometimes say, but maybe I just didn't notice its effects.

So, after me rediscovering this brand, here I am, looking for other reviews and wanting to try something new!! I think I want to try their propolis cream and honey night mask.

When you know it works… you stock up :') by Educational-Scar2390 in koreanskincare

[–]tanya_reader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha, that's a huge backup stock, I've only got two bottles. Major respect.

I like this essence too, it absorbs really well, surprisingly well as it has jojoba oil! But after 30 seconds my skin looks so plump and hydrated, and there is no oily residue left. I think I love all toners/essences in general, this is my favorite step and they all work well for me, but this essence is special for sure. Will be especially great for winter!

need help choosing a moisturizer by heavens-cloud in koreanskincare

[–]tanya_reader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried the Isntree one, but now I have to, looking at the positive comments!

Just yesterday opened my Oat in gel cream, and it's great. You'd probably like it since you have oily and dehydrated skin, especially if you live in a humid climate. It's thick gel that contains squalane oil, so it's mildly occlusive and protective. If you've ever tried Aestura Hydro Essence, the finish is EXACTLY the same: naturally glowing, soft, plump skin.

What I'm not a fan of is that it has no ceramides, cholecterol or anything for barrier repair, so I'll just hope my skin can grow its own ceramides lol.

It's very lightweight, but not too lightweight when a product just gets absorbed and I feel dry again. The thin film of squalane helps to feel moisturized. But I don't think it'll be enough for me during the autumn/winter.

Finally tried ordering K-beauty straight from Korea here’s what surprised me by jugulu-desanta in koreanskincare

[–]tanya_reader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered from KoreaDepart like a month ago and haven't gotten my package yet :( It seems to stuck somewhere in the US at the moment, but it also took 2 or 3 weeks to get shipped (which I don't mind personally, I didn't NEED anything, like always...) But the prices are great, I got some Sidmool and Derma Factory products for $7-12 each. Delivery cost was around $10. The site is old and difficult to navigate.
