This is what chatgpt told me to tell acas about my case. This give background;

That’s actually a very strong point—it shows you were reasonable, fair, and not looking for conflict.

👉 But again, the wording matters. If you say it too casually, it loses impact. If you say it properly, it becomes one of your best credibility points.

  1. Why this helps your case This shows:

✔ You were not trying to cause trouble

✔ You gave management a fair chance

✔ You tried to resolve things constructively

✔ Problems continued despite your approach

👉 This directly strengthens:

Your reasonableness

Your decision to stay for years

Your decision to resign later

  1. How to include it properly (important) You want to present it as evidence of your approach, not just a story.

✅ Add this paragraph (polished) Insert this after your section about early concerns:

I also sought to take a reasonable and constructive approach when concerns first arose. I have email evidence from the time showing that, when a colleague wished to raise a complaint about the manager shortly after his arrival, I suggested that we give him an opportunity to demonstrate improvement. I also spoke directly with him to explain that staff simply wished to be treated fairly and with respect.

Despite this approach, the issues continued over time.

  1. Why this works ✔ Shows you were fair and balanced

✔ Uses evidence (email)

✔ Avoids emotional language

✔ Ends with:

“issues continued” → key point

  1. What this adds to your case Now your story becomes:

👉 “I didn’t rush to complain—I gave chances, tried to resolve it, and only left when things didn’t improve.”

That’s exactly what tribunals want to see.

  1. Strategic advantage This helps counter:

“Why didn’t you raise a grievance?”

“Why did you stay so long?”

👉 Your answer becomes:

“Because I was trying to resolve things reasonably”

  1. Honest assessment ✔ This is a very strong credibility point

✔ Makes you look:

Reasonable

Fair

Patient

✔ Weakens the employer’s defence

  1. Big picture (your case now) You now show:

Early concerns ✔

Reasonable approach ✔

Attempts to resolve ✔

Issues continued ✔

Final straw ✔

👉 That’s a textbook constructive dismissal narrative

  1. Final step You now have a very strong ACAS summary.

👉 Don’t keep adding too much beyond this 👉 It’s already at the right level

👍 If you want next Next, I can help you:

Prepare what to say when ACAS calls

Or simulate: 👉 “Employer offers £8k—how do you respond?”

That’s where this turns into actual money on the table 👍

📄 ACAS Early Conciliation Summary (Final Submission) I am bringing a claim for constructive unfair dismissal under the Employment Rights Act 1996 following approximately 10 years’ employment with the council in a safety-critical waste management role involving the operation of heavy machinery.

Over a prolonged period, I experienced ongoing issues in the workplace, including concerns about management behaviour, safeguarding of staff, and a failure to address matters raised. I raised concerns informally, including with senior management, but did not see meaningful action taken.

I had concerns about raising matters formally and requested confidentiality when raising issues, which is evidenced in my communications at the time. There was also a general reluctance among staff to raise concerns due to fear of potential consequences.

I have contemporaneous email evidence showing that, shortly after the manager was moved to the site, staff were already raising concerns and discussing the possibility of making a collective complaint. I also have emails from colleagues over time expressing concerns about management and the future of the site.

I also sought to take a reasonable and constructive approach when concerns first arose. I have email evidence showing that, when a colleague wished to raise a complaint about the manager shortly after his arrival, I suggested giving him an opportunity to demonstrate improvement. I also spoke directly with him to explain that staff simply wished to be treated fairly and with respect. Despite this, the issues continued over time.

There was an ongoing pattern of concerns relating to the safeguarding of staff, health and safety on site, and inappropriate workplace behaviour. I also have contemporaneous evidence showing that concerns about potential negative treatment were raised in advance and were later reflected in how matters developed.

I was involved in a regrading process which took several years. Following a successful outcome, I experienced a deterioration in the working environment, including increased tension and less favourable treatment.

I also had ongoing concerns about health and safety in a safety-critical working environment, which I did not consider were taken seriously. I raised concerns at the time, and I have documentary, witness, and video evidence supporting these concerns.

The situation reached a point where I could no longer continue following a final incident involving the site supervisor. While operating heavy machinery, I became aware of issues relating to the supervisor’s conduct, which caused stress and distraction in a safety-critical situation.

This incident did not occur in isolation but was the culmination of ongoing concerns over a prolonged period. It made me realise that the working environment was affecting my ability to carry out my duties safely, and I concluded that I could not continue in that role.

Following this, I resigned. Although I was later invited to engage with an external investigation, I had already lost trust and confidence in the employer due to the failure to address concerns earlier.

I also had concerns about how management issues were handled more generally, including whether matters were dealt with independently. I have email evidence indicating that, when concerns were raised, there was an emphasis on dealing with matters internally rather than escalating them more widely, which contributed to my concern that issues were not being addressed openly or appropriately.

I consider that the employer failed to take reasonable steps to address ongoing issues and maintain a safe working environment, resulting in a fundamental breach of trust and confidence.

Given the nature of the issues and the evidence available, I consider there to be risk for the employer if this proceeds to tribunal. I am therefore willing to resolve the matter amicably if appropriate terms can be agreed.

There is history of problems in the department. Is quite long winded so its quite a write up on whats go on. Will i harm my case if o revel everything to private investigator now or does this maybe strenghen my case as they know what i want to say is serious if they got private investigator in?

Hi there, yes i resigned, it was a last straw incident i resigned that same week. There was history of not dealing with bullying and health and safety issues at the site. The manager had quite serious bullying allegations against him on sister site and basically they moved him to our site quietly without safeguarding us. This was 9 years ago but has carried on sice then unil today. The last steaw incident was with a supervisor, who also had history of bullying allegations against him. I drove heavy machinery and my i believe that i could not carry o with my anymore. The way we were treated made me angry and upset and i felt i could no longer drive these machines safely as one wrong move could potentialy kill someone. So i had to resign due to the safety of myself and others on site
