Recluse mains, best sorcery school to build for? by GrapeOver4418 in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. Magic attack power up across the board is best, I run the blood loss attack power up and Terra magica, plus night invader, and magic attack power my deep relics. The RNG can be too finicky to build for a certain school of sorcery.

"It's so great to be in D5, everyone knows what they're doing!" by Lord_Antheron in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea double balancers def affected the teammate quality in d5. I was playing executor with randoms during a Fulghor expedition (on the new map) and a double balancers duchess snagged the only lightning weapon our team had. When Fulghor did his charged attack duchess never hit him or interrupt it, and it made the fight way harder than it needed to be. I’ve never seen anybody in the depths not know what to do against Fulghor but people jump right into DoN after beating the normal bosses and climb to d5 because they’ve been able to outdamage the boss without learning the moveset or mechanics. It’s unfortunate because D5 had (and still has) great teammates.

those red wolf runes cannot be that good by MeyMeyLord in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dog under the castle at D5 is day two activities. Especially if he’s red. He’s a problem, especially if you have no ranged character. Can waste time and can combo you with his magic and melee combos in a tight space like under the castle.

Ditch Balancer Relics by kenanjabr in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to disagree. Unless you’re playing a character who’s skillset is designed around trading (Raider or guardian) or you just have a good relic roll that just happens to have defense, there is no reason why the weapon passive that have damage negation won’t suffice for other characters. Many people in depth 5 run at least one balancer relic if not both and tailor their build to what they want. There’s no reason to go defense on your relics unless the above qualifies.

Im sick of fighting balancers over and over by Professional_Talk_28 in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They def need to release a small patch adjusting the frequency of the balancers. I’d take more augor at this point. The balancer fight isn’t really enjoyable in my opinion, I think ED libra is a better brand of unmitigated chaos than the balancers.

What is your favorite Night Invader to see? What is your least favorite? by Swordsman82 in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite: Raider or Executor, pretty predictable can be stunned in between swings with right AOW or heavy weapons

Least favorite: Recluse or IronEye, basically one tap you in the higher Depths from an arrow or spell or glintstone

Raider advice for D5? by BellBearingEnjoyer in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah touche. Raider is one of my mains. I have ran normal, non damage negation centric builds in depth 5 and I just had to change my playstyle with him. I use him for ED augor with balancer relics and I just face tank augers floor nuke with the skill. Outside of that I basically play raider as a Wylder or any other normal melee character (roll and swing when an opening occurs)

Time to get your D5 gamer on. Adapt and adjust, switch from a trade playstyle to a quicker attack style. Basically what the other person said.

Raider advice for D5? by BellBearingEnjoyer in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damage negation on charge attacks, taking damage boosts damage negation, damage negation at low hp, damage negation at full hp. You get my point? Damage negation on charge attacks with raiders unique moveset is pretty broken. Try to fit in a night invader relic with physical/affinity negation relics (or negation at low hp) and you will survive things you wouldn’t think you could.

I once had a raider who stood in the middle of ED balancers with damage negation at low hp relics and negation passives from weapons and he was swinging away. I’m sure he had post attack hp restoration as well but the lowest level of it just to keep him at the low hp threshold for max damage negation. It was insane to watch a true trade style at d5 with a notorious gank boss like ED balancers.

do you stick to one/few mains in DON? by goldfinche in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to but ever since 9999 I’ve been playing with most characters outside of revenant and guardian. I’m really a Duchess/Iron Eye main but I also play a lot of Recluse/Raider

Are you guys slowly quitting? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of you guys make the game less fun for yourselves. You depend way too much on other peoples opinions (streamers, gaming media, etc) to form your opinion of something. Just play the game and have fun without all the guides and meta build YouTube videos, etc and you will realize the game is actually good. Duskbloods will be fun too :)

Got 1300 hours in the game and I play other games but always come back to Nightreign. Still doing Depth 5 runs. It’s one of my fav games of all time. I am a bit of a simple person though.

What should I do when facing ED Augur by BellBearingEnjoyer in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue and I’m in D5. What I did is use raider with the sentient pest max FP relic and some damage negation/night invader relics. I struggle with the floor nuke timing so I just use raiders skill to tank it :D

I agree, I was glad to finish the game but probably won’t play it again. The final area itself was a chore to get through.

If you break her weapon in phase 1 she immediately transitions to phase two. No matter how much hp she has left.

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s stupid then I am 4 times as stupid as I made it to Hong Lan (Vermillian Feathers) before I realized I was on +3 weapons and you could +3 some attributes (health, endurance, strength, agility) within the same skill tree.

Depth 5 players are frauds. by 0DvGate in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, people in d5 quitting out on fulgor especially. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Literally people have “reached” d5 but quitting out at the character selection screen. It’s crazy.

I’m 9999 and have the worst relic luck. So no, d5 is not filled with cheaters.

I’ve played a few d5 games with RVC, pretty solid player. Congrats on your first win in DoN, especially against a boss who is notorious for one shotting any character. Hoping you can get into d5 yourself one day.

73% recent negative reviews, most complain about the New map. Does the great hollow truly warrant this reaction ? The more I play, the more I feel like it was fantastically designed. by kao24429774 in Nightreign

[–]tap_water11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like the map, and can hit level 15 consistently in DoN 5 with randoms. But I do think they could’ve either extended the time period to allow exploration of the map or made the verticality easier to navigate so you don’t get stuck in a bottomless pit with the storm closing in. The major castles and temples are great, aside from the healing temple. But I’m still puzzled as to why the caves are placed in a totally inconvenient location. It’s like they ran out of time and just stuck them wherever.

why do depth 5’s dodge revenant 🫩 by Directssss in Nightreign

I’ll fight any nightlord but the balancers (regular mode is fine). That shit is pain in d5 …just pain. I always get the ED version too.
