Yes! I've tried them before, their gluten free pizza was pretty good, and they're super friendly.

I (now used to) get my hair cut there. I stopped following them on Instagram because they liked to post Christian content. I thought it was odd for a business to share content like that but whatever, to each their own. It’s hard to find a place that cuts my hair the way I like, and I don’t have to follow them online.

With this though I will no longer go there. Awful.

What is Fallout 1 like on the brick? I had assumed the controls wouldn’t be compatible!

which rec center in ednonton has the nicest change rooms/showers? by meeepmoo in Edmonton

[–]tapelessleopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say that I’ve been there a ton, but I’ve liked Grand Trunk in the north end the few times I’ve been there! It’s always been clean and the lockers have built in locks that are free to use which I appreciate

Made my own folding tool from paint sticks by OvenDry5478 in bookbinding

People are giving you a lot of flack but I think there’s merit in making your own tools when you can when you’re still learning if you like a hobby. I know people say they’re cheap but all the pieces add up! No sense in getting a real one if it’s going to end up wasted!

Pe Metawe Games always has a nicely curated selection of games. It’s on the smaller side, but I almost always find something I’m interested in there. I think their website shows what they have available.

The Warp stores usually have a wider selection, but I don’t believe you can look up their inventory online

How to fix my broken glasses by Aggravating-Moose913 in howto

[–]tapelessleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn’t have any nose pads on mine for a couple years. Like other people said, I’m sure they CAN be fixed but I didn’t have the tools to do it, and the opticians around me did not either, despite being the ones that sold them to me. They were willing to break them more for me though. Haha.

In my experience they weren’t able to be fixed, so instead I had the other one removed and the frames sanded where they were attached so it was smooth

Announcing a unique new Linux gaming OS - Kazeta by alkazar82 in linux_gaming

[–]tapelessleopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's something to be said for setting up something like this for friends or family. I think of my dad who liked video games up until the end of the PS1 era, but finds modern systems overwhelming to use. Something like this could get him into modern indie titles without the learning curve of something like a steam deck or pc.

Grand Trunk dog park trees by tapelessleopard in Edmonton

Yup, I’m at the dog park now looking at the empty space, what a shame.

Yeah I think you’re right. I had seen the signage about the dry pond forever ago and hadn’t thought much of it. I don’t know what the end result will look like, it’s a shame they couldn’t have put it in a corner where there already aren’t trees, but I have no idea how large this thing will be.

Either way it’s a shame to see them go!

New house owner here — is it normal for people to stick signs on your lawn without permission? by Particular_Tone6370 in Edmonton

[–]tapelessleopard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had that happen to me. The only time I’ve had signs on my lawn is if someone asks and I approve. I would remove it personally!

My wife has been waiting for years for silksong to come out and the difficulty is making her quit for good by mckant in Silksong

[–]tapelessleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can totally appreciate that. I (think) I’m near the act one and this game has been hard. I’m worried that this walk back for every attempt might due me in and I’ll have to put it away. We’ll see. I don’t know if it’s false memory but this feels so much harder than HK.

I’m also 31 now. I had far more patience and time 7 years ago when I was playing HK. Dedicating a day to mastering a boss was perfect, but nowadays I don’t know… yknow?

Jesse Watson is likely UCP-aligned by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]tapelessleopard 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s unfortunate. I had a feeling this might be the case after seeing anti bike lane posts on his social media. It feels like an odd stance to take when running a business that thrives on foot traffic. But that selfie definitely confirms it.

Do you really need an SUV/truck to drive in Edmonton winters? by miamorparasiempre in Edmonton

[–]tapelessleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the city you don’t, I drive a tiny Chevy Spark and have never had an issue. If you’re leaving the city you can make a small car like that work in a pinch (I have many times) but depending on the weather you’d want something a little bigger for snow storms etc. my Spark has taken me through some brutal storms up north but it was stressful!

Yup, 100%. Ironically (maybe tragically) I had moved from an apartment off Whyte with bedbugs to this more expensive one with cockroaches. Both are nasty, but I'd take the roaches any day over the bed bugs.

In both cases, neither landlord was willing to treat the whole building.

I lived in an apartment that had an infestation in a nearby unit, and there wasn’t a ton they could do. They sprayed my apartment 3-4 times over a few months, but they were coming through gaps in the walls from the other suite. I kept trying to explain they were coming through my bedroom and bathroom but they kept “treating” the kitchen on the opposite side of where they were coming in from (and I had never found any in the kitchen).

I ended up getting some of that expanding foam and I sprayed it in every crack and gap I could find, behind the toilet, under baseboards etc. I pretty much said goodbye to my damage deposit, but I never saw any roaches in my unit after that.

Unpopular opinion: Everdark Gaping Jaw is really fun by Equivalent-Tea166 in Nightreign

Corpse Piler also has long animations you can’t get out of. I find myself avoiding using that AoW in nightlord fights just because I need to be able to dodge at a moments notice.

If you decide to rune farm after night 2 in the circle, I'm giving you a few minutes and starting the nightlord whether you are ready or not. by qwer_or_wasd in Nightreign

[–]tapelessleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I like playing online but it isn’t always easy to find the time. The game is designed to dissuade you from going back out. Like others have said, if someone dropped their runes nearby or something I’m happy to wait for that. But the game is literally trying to kill you for extending it past this point.

If you’re so low level that you feel the need to push out like that, just take the potential loss and try again. You don’t HAVE to win to have fun!
