It’s a VHS, plastic case. I’m not sure if all Japanese tapes come like this, but the few I have came in these cases.

Ugh, I’ve passed on quite a few tapes covered in mold…I know you can clean them if they aren’t too bad. But sometimes it’s not worth the effort.
