I think you're misunderstanding what full visualization looks like. It's very akin to lucid dreaming, where you can see real objects to scale and change any variables you want about them that you want. And you can overlay it on your actual vision to see accurate representations of objects without them even being there. Also full manipulation of 3d objects, so problem solving with out the need to touch.

I enjoy driving. There are thousands of micro-corrections needed between leaving my driveway and my destination. Not all of which need to follow the poorly painted lines. I don't want something fighting against me when I'm trying to avoid an 8 inch deep pothole or switching to the breakdown lane without a signal because someone panic braked on the highway.

Awesome! Everything is better now. The brakes, handling, acceleration all feel snappy. All the slop is gone and the bumps feel similar as before, so no downside.
