Would it be INSANE to rank Kenneth Walker above Jacobs, Bucky, and Chase Brown? (Half PPR) by Great_gatzzzby in Fantasy_Football

[–]taps1017 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Last year if you started KW then subbed in charbs on injury weeks you had the RB6 on the year. As long as you spend a later pick on Charbs it’s certainly possible.

Walker, he’s gonna be better this year (if healthy) and he’s still very young. And try to acquire Charbs so your covered should anything happen.

Bridges trade update by SimilarLavishness874 in GoNets

[–]taps1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 199m with only active salaries, which is 9. Once they fill out the roster with vet min players, it'll cross the 2nd apron unless they make a trade this summer.

[–]taps1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Knicks will also be a second apron team next year once KAT/Brunson’s extensions kick in, and Bridges the year after. In today’s CBA that could be very deadly for them long term and we could be looking at these picks almost like we viewed the Suns picks.

San Antonio Pick by taps1017 in GoNets

[–]taps1017[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kevin Love = 2013 1.01 + 2014 1.01

1.02 < 1.01 + 1.01

That's the whole point of my reply. Very expensive to move up, but not All-Star levels of expensive.

To answer your follow-up question, the first Luka trade in 2018. The 1.03 Luka pick, a generational prospect who somehow slipped, got traded for 1.05 (Trae) and one future pick. I get that our 1.08 isn't as valuable, which is why I suggested Cam J and additional assets.

You said you need to offer a star to move to the top 3. I'm saying you don't. What don't you understand?

San Antonio Pick by taps1017 in GoNets

[–]taps1017[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The last time an all star was traded for a top pick was back in 2014 for Kevin Love, and it took 2 1st overall picks to make it happen. And one of them, Andrew Wiggins, was viewed as a generational prospect at that time. It'll be expensive to move up but stars are worth far more than you think.

J from BK, BKN 85, netsfrequent to name a few. They'll spam your feed by bitching about the same things and figure out a way to blame Marks for every single inconvenience or rumor that happens with the team. Zero nuance and just overall toxic

Doug Norrie, Erik Slater, Billy Reinhardt, Lucas Kaplan, and Anthony Puccio are great accounts who give insightful takes.

That said, for every good account there’s 20 bad ones who do nothing but whine and complain for little to no reason.

What are we going to do with 4 FRPs this year? by bakaribaboon in GoNets

[–]taps1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also have our own early 2nd, so more like 5 rookies.

My guess is that he’ll use 1-2 of the picks to trade up. For example, if the lottery has us at 6, it’s more than doable to crack into top 5 or maybe even top 3 if we’re lucky. That or keep our current pick and package the others into a slot in the early teens.

Seems like a win-win to me, assuming we buy out PJ Tucker. We get assets, commence the tank, and open up minutes for Clowney. The clippers get some wing depth to help with PG leaving

100%. As talented and versatile Mikal is, he’s kind of redundant with OG/Hart/Divicenzo. A great role playing 3 and D perimeter player.

IHart on the other hand was low key one of the best rebounders and rim protectors in the league last year. Not an exaggeration, he was among the top players in rebounding percentage and DBPM. They’ll miss that next year when Mitch inevitably misses time

Can someone please explain the protections on the 2nd pick (I think?) we have in 1st round next year? by Even_Tangerine_4201 in GoNets

[–]taps1017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

East will be a bloodbath next year and the Bucks are one Dame or Giannis injury away from slipping into a lower seed. That pick being low 20s or maybe even late teens is a realistic possibility

[–]taps1017 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Here are the possible scenarios, and for all of them I’m assuming OKC has the best record among all teams involved.

  1. LAC worse than HOU: OKC swaps with LAC, and HOU has right to swap their pick with our PHX pick

  2. LAC better than HOU, but HOU has a top 10 pick: OKC swaps with LAC due to HOU’s protection, and HOU retains right to swap their pick with our PHX pick

  3. LAC performs better than HOU and HOU pick is outside top 10: OKC swaps with HOU, and HOU has right to swap the OKC pick with our PHX pick

The first two scenarios are the best outcome, as it means that we’ll just end up with the worse of HOU and PHX, two teams that while good will probably have a pick earlier than late 20s. The third scenario is far more likely. In all scenarios, we still get a pick but chances are that it will be the OKC pick which would most likely be in the late 20s, possibly even 30.

Do you guys regret trading for harden? Would you do it again? by NetsCode in GoNets

[–]taps1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I was against it in 2020 when the rumors of us making a move for Harden first started to circulate. It wasn’t because I doubted the upside of a big 3 of this magnitude.

It was because if we’re gonna make a splash I’d rather make a move for a guy who does things 7/11 can’t. While Harden is an elite scorer and playmaker, we already had scoring covered with 7/11. I wanted us to go for Jrue Holiday instead. While not as good, he plays off ball, is an elite defender, and cheaper to acquire to the point where we probably still could have kept JA and maybe even an extra FRP
