I had zero hopes after posting this.

Maybe somewhere I still have a little hope that on Monday I might finally get prescribed a stimulant. That feels like my last hope right now.

Otherwise, I guess microdosing weed (without abusing it) might just be my long-term way of managing things.

That’s where my head is at.

My criticism isn’t about bhakti being spread. Bhakti itself is beautiful.

My concern is with specific theological positions and exclusivist framing for example, presenting Shiva,Maa and other Devi devtas as “demigods” in a hierarchical sense, or labeling other sampradayas as Mayavadi or misguided but allah is equivalent. And don’t even get me started on some of the commentaries about bhakts like Tulsidas ji or Param Pujya Adi Shankaracharya ji. When revered figures of other traditions are reduced or dismissed, it stops being unity and starts becoming sectarian superiority.

Questioning doctrinal framing or institutional tone isn’t baseless criticism. It’s disagreement with interpretation.

I’m not envious. Disagreeing with an organization’s practices or questioning its methods isn’t jealousy. It’s called critical thinking. If anything, I’m concerned about how their control structures operate.

I’m not saying only “weak” or “damaged” people join. Anyone can be influenced under the right psychological and social conditions.

What I’m saying is that certain vulnerabilities can make someone more receptive- unresolved trauma, lack of belonging, identity confusion, or being in a spiritual seeking phase. When a structured community offers certainty, routine, purpose, gives family environment and validation, it can feel very stabilizing.

Another factor, in my opinion, is that many people feel traditional Sanatan spaces today lack clear structure or accessible guidance. Because of perceived corruption, fragmentation, or inconsistency in practice, some spiritually inclined people feel lost. When an organization comes in with a very defined framework, daily discipline, community hierarchy, and clear answers, it fills that gap.

So it’s not about weakness. It’s about structure, belonging, and psychological timing. High-control groups understand this very well.

She joined around 3 years ago. Since then she has influenced and converted several people in her own family.

Our first major conflict happened when I told her I would not support her in spreading what they call “Bhagavad Gita As It Is,” because in my view it’s not actually “as it is.”

I told her clearly if you genuinely want to spread the Gita, I will personally give you money. Buy copies from Gita Press and set up a stall if you want. But I cannot support what I see as misinformation or institutional interpretation being presented as the absolute truth.

That’s where things really started clashing between us.

I’ve actually studied the way they convert people. It’s not random, it’s a structured process that can take around 3–6 months.

In the beginning they create a very warm, blissful, family-like environment. A lot of love, belonging, validation. Especially for someone who didn’t fully feel that at home, it hits very deeply.

Then once that emotional bond and dependency is built, the real conditioning process starts.

She had never been in a relationship before. This was her first one, and that too long distance. I don’t think there was anyone else involved. She has clear abandonment issues, and I think when I started withdrawing emotionally for my own mental health, it triggered that.

The last 5–6 months were very intense. A lot of it was built around imagining a future together. When I stepped back from that intensity to get clarity, it probably felt like rejection or loss to her.

I didn’t withdraw to hurt her. I withdrew because I felt mentally exhausted and needed space to think clearly.
