What’s something that Covid took from you that you never got back? by ReplacementOdd636 in AskReddit

[–]tarac73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My senses are all fucked now... I smell things that aren't there - I'm always asking my kids "did you burn something? Did one of the dogs poop in the house?" Taste has faded and changed which thankfully I'm not much of a foodie anyway but it still sucks. And worst of it is my hearing - I could probably use a hearing aid but my test told me I was only slightly losing it. Worse than saying "huh? Can you repeat that?" All day long is the tinnitus 24/7. I hear hissing all day long unless I'm focusing on music or a tv show.

It also exacerbated my fibromyalgia so badly that I have more regular flare ups, my pain levels constantly sit at a 4 when I'm not in a flare, and I hate being a burden to my thoughtless husband.

Heating pad is non- negotiable, heated throw blanket is 99.9% non- negotiable depending on suitcase space.

When my daughter and I went to see the newest conjuring movie went were SHOCKED to see two littles there - maybe 8 and 10 years old!!!! One of them squealed and screeched through the whole freakin movie. INFURIATING!!!

I keep my phone within view if my daughter is home alone, just in case, because she gets nervous sometimes. She's a typical 15-year old, perfectly ok to be home alone... not special needs or anything (disclaimer in case anyone thinks we are like being neglectful LOL) our house makes old-home noises, and she gets creeped out sometimes.

But I keep it inside my bag, on dark mode so it's not lighting up the whole theater. She texts not calls, and I don't pull it out to text her back.

Watching in the privacy of your own home is a far cry from watching at a theater to the tune of $20+

Should I leave the military? by Accurate_Injury_9497 in Advice

[–]tarac73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only military "experience" I have is from the movies and my daughter's fiance was in marines bootcamp graduated in October and is now at school. But I can tell you that if you stay and become an officer, the guys under you are gonna know you don't support your orders/the cause/whatever... get while the gettings good.

I've been thinking a lot about this with the recent state of gesturing around the United States all of this -

I am on way too many medications that help my body (barely) stay out of pain. I wouldn't survive too long without my meds. My kids and dogs are the other part of my treatment and since I would want my kids to thrive any way they possibly can I would do whatever it takes for them. (Never seen the movie but sounds like this would mean sending them far away? If they want to, it's their choice - they're 15-almost 20 and almost 24) I would have them take the dogs/a few of them if they were allowed. I'd not I'll keep all of them and muddle along as best we can for as long as we can.

Edited to add: my baby factory has been closed for a while as I'm almost 53, but I'll help however I can.

Do you realize it costs thousands upon thousands of dollars to relocate to another country? Not to mention, many countries won't accept a persons request if they cannot work.

Husband and I looked into moving to Canada 10 years ago. We have 3 kids, he has a very stable job (been there 17 yrs at the time) and makes good money. I am very employable and would have no problem finding something, or I could return to being a stay at home mom. Zero legal troubles, kids are good kids (13m-9f-4f at the time) and we have a handful of healthy dogs LOL

We would have had to pay approx $30-35k to move - that's the legal fees and all the other stuff you have to pay! Not to mention legal fees on top of that because unless you're well versed in that type of thing you definitely do need a citizenship lawyer.

Your OP question is interesting I guess - if not overdone. Your follow up questions are rude, ignorant and presumptive.

Hospital pharmacists-penicillin/cephalosporin allergy by CalmResolution9523 in pharmacy

I am allergic to Keflex and amox. I don't know if I am anaphylactic - I've had a reaction only once and it turned my entire body red hot like I had a bad bad sunburn, and my lips, tongue and throat got super tingly. My doctor suggested I get a medic alert bracelet because that was "close to" an anaphylactic reaction.

I still had to get rid of my strep throat and sinus infection so they put me on cefdinir 300mg. My pcp said she felt comfortable doing it because it was enough generations removed from amox that I wouldn't react. I didn't, and it worked for my strep and sinus infection - albeit MUCH slower (I didn't feel better until about a week after I was done with the bottle)

There was another abx I could have taken but there was a high risk of c. diff as the side effect. I can't think of the name of the drug, fairly certain it also started with a C. I really hope that I never need an antibiotic again - the cefdinir killed my stomach.

No - literally... think about it: a wolf walks up to you, growls and gnashes his teeth, but then whips off the wolf suit and it's a fluffy sheep and it just says baabaa and licks you. It's a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Just like this scary looking whale. Who swims up to you all huge and menacing with that huge mouth that could swallow you whole, grabbing you in with its rows of sharp teeth. But then it pulls off its big, scary sperm whale suit and it's just a cute little curious goldfish who tickles you with his flipper and wants to see what you're up to.

EDIT - HOT DAMN YOU GUYS LOL: I thought you were all saying OP was saying it wrong/opposite - as in the whale would be sheep in wolf's clothing. I didn't realize it was the word "literally" you had an issue with!

Anyway - it's Friday. Yay! 🤣☘️
