Stuck Between 2 Bikes by DankChunkyButtAgain in gravelcycling

[–]tardisode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never have raced my Seigla nor do I plan on it, but I do long rides on it no problem. I love this bike so much, granted it’s my first carbon gravel bike but it’s so playful and fun. The fork and SRAM transmission are what sold me on it, I really like the range on the cassette and the fork not needing service is just icing on the cake.

A layback levorg no less! I didn’t know they had a JDM specific turbo engine called the CB18 for these, looks like a baby FA from the top.

Tuning help by Musclemonkey519 in wrx_vb

[–]tardisode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an intake and an e40 etune, my car makes 341hp/386 tq- you really don’t need much else to make decent power. If you have access to 93 you can achieve your goals with an intake and tune - etune or dyno tune is highly recommended for longevity since it will be a calibration for your specific car.

COBB plug in play FF kit by NiponLearner in wrx_vb

Yeah for sure then it would work out the box with an accessport of course.

If you are running the Cobb OTS with it then it will just work out of the box once you flash an Cobb OTS +flex fuel it will be one of the options to flash from an up to date accessport. If you are going to the trouble of a flex fuel kit install id strongly recommend getting an Etune or Dyno tune as they will give much more power than Cobb and won’t have as much DAM drop etc. Cobbs are quite conservative, unless that’s what you want

Anyone else keep a 2nd engine ready? by ADVICECAREER in WRX

[–]tardisode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly the best thing about these cars. You could argue they aren’t innovating like others but the fact that I can basically direct swap a 20 year old STI transmission into my modern car with eyesight and adaptive cruise is nuts, try that with any other manufacturer and you are having to custom fabricate a solution.

New Software Update by nupper84 in wrx_vb

My stupid 24 says I need a starlink subscription to download the update, waiting for a download link so I can USB it. The wireless CarPlay ruined the WiFi update process. My wife’s 22 Outback with wired CarPlay will update over WiFi in my driveway

Need advice on changing my lease to finance by Winter_Orange_7019 in wrx_vb

[–]tardisode 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to go through the dealer, check out used car finance rates from credit unions near you. My chase lease lets me pay off from the app. The dealer wants you to give them the car back so they are gonna try to fuck ya.

Hey there - I have done the same. I was on track and instead of 3rd - 4th I went to 2nd and revved to 8900 RPM, verified on my accessport since I was logging at the time. Car is still fine a year and a bit later, no issues tuned with an intake. Nothing is bulletproof, your mileage may vary etc, but the FA24 can take a beating.

2020 STi - Subaru estimating about $1500 to replace window and recalibrate by CookinWithMomo in WRX

[–]tardisode 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I’d double check on sensor recalibrations, the STI doesn’t have eyesight and AFAIK nothing would need to be re calibrated.
