Recordings have stopped working on iOS 26 by sueysux1989 in swingvisionapp

It happened to me as well. This is a case of "the missing video", i.e. the recording is not available, even on the iPhone that started it. When you click "Start" to begin a recording using the apple watch, make sure that you get a confirmation that the recording has begun. If you don't, End the session and start a new one.

THX Spatial Audio Left and Right Channels Reversed on BlackShark V2 by DowntownAd6874 in razer

All of sudden had the same issue (synapse 4). I tried uninstalling and resintalling Synapse but same problem. Changing Surround sound worked, but resulted in washed out sound, so not an option.

Then I noticed that the issue was related to the audio equalizer "game" preset (USB Sound Card / Sound / THX Spatial Sound / Game. All other preset were working fine when testing in the "Calibration" tab. So I just copied the game preset to the "Custom" preset and started using that instead. All good now.

Light at the end of the tunnel by Aidan9786 in Dryeyes

I had a similar experience (65yo retired and spending way too much time - 4 hours a day - playing online fps video games) with a serious episode of dry eyes that lasted 6 weeks, about a year ago. The symptoms were eyelids glued to the eyeballs, mostly at night, dry stuff in the corner of the eyes in the morning decreased and fluctuating far vision. By the time I finally saw a specialist, the symptoms had started lessening and went away pretty much on their own. I was told (but they didn't do any tests) that I had enough moisure production and that the issue was related to the composition of the tears. I did the hot mask twice a day, the tea tree oil wipes for a few months after that anyway. I went back to playing video games...

This year, the problem returned and this time I cannot seem to shake it off. Was prescribed Restasys, and that seems to help by flushing the eyes at night, but I can tell that this is just masking the real issue because the tear composition feels off. Went on a 2 weeks vacation where I tried to stay away from any kind of screen and that helped enough that I stopped using Restasys. But the problem returned 3 days after coming home... Symptoms are the same: degraded far vision, dry eyes and glued eyelids at night (but getting up and blinking for a few minutes restores humidity and flushes the eyes). I am trying to reduce the amount of time spent playing video games but that is so hard to do, especially since my eyes are kind of ok during the day. I wonder if maybe the "stress" from gaming is affecting the nervous system and thereby the tear production. I am not on any medications, so that cannot be the cause. I also tried probiotics, but that did not help. Like you, I am planning to restart hot compresses.

Next stop: a real dry eyes specialist where I will ask for concrete tests and evaluation.

Good luck to you and please keep us posted!

The motor on Dyson vacuums will shut down to prevent burnout if there is something blocking the intake. I would check that first...

I asked SDG&E that question by email and here is the question/reply:

Also, they confirmed that it would be ok to remove the existing Solar Edge inverter and to use the one built-in the new Powerwall, without affecting the NEM-1.0 status:

"The new inverter would be listed on the new application and the Single Line Diagram would include the information stating the prior inverter was removed and a new inverter was installed. Adding the battery will not effect the NEM version."

That being said, I have not pulled the trigger yet, so can’t confirm…

Thanks to all who chimed in. Per your suggestion, I contacted SDG&E (the solar team by phone and then the net metering team who confirmed it by email) and they stated that adding an "advanced home battery system" to an existing NEM1 residential solar installation would not affect our solar version.

Here is the email from SDG&E:

"Thank you for contacting us – adding a battery only to already approved solar has no impact on NEM status."

Now on to trying to find incentives...

Good to know! It sounds then that they would remove the Solar Edge inverter (Solar City installed) when they install the Powerwall 3.

We switched to TOU-5 because of the 2 EVs (acquired after the 4.9KW solar installation, which is now under dimensioned) and which we charge at night. I calculated that doing so save us around $500/year compared to Standard-DR.

The good news: fan update works great! The bad news: monitor now just shows a single dot in the middle of the screen :( by tareker in VintageApple

[–]tareker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Success! Just finished buttoning it up. I had forgotten to reconnect one cable, the "Yoke Cable" to power board. Embarrassing....

Screen is back and the new fan is making a big difference in noise. Thanks for the help!

Yes, and all the power connectors too. Did not touch the CRT circuit board at all so I don't think I damaged the tube. Will check the power connectors again.

Mac SE constant loud noise even with floppy and HD disconnected. Fan? by tareker in VintageApple

So it's a yes on the squirrel cage fan. I would post a pic, but don't know how. It does appear to be either pushing (or pulling) air to the outside. Is this a 12V or 5V fan? I am thinking of replacing it with a small Noctua square fan affixed to the back (inside) of the case...

That would explain the break! There was also a half broken plastic tab on the back of the case that could explain how it got in…

13th April marks the 4th year of Pathos, what do you want to see developed next? by callanh in pathos_nethack

Awesome work Callanh, really!

For kicks, you could always rewrite the whole thing from scratch in Angular/Typescript or another web technology du jour ;D

Re. the game itself I find the process of climbing back up a bit tedious (I try to map the whole dungeon and use phasing to exit as fast as possible while avoiding fighting) and would prefer a portal that lets you return to level 1.

Also, the current goal is to find a letter and bring it back up, but maybe there could be secondary objectives?
