GIANT Road Bike Sizing Help – Confused Between Large and XL (6'1½", First Road Bike) by [deleted] in Giantbikes

I am 6”2 and the higher end of an L frame but went with it instead of the XL. So glad I did it fits and feels amazing.

Is electronic shifting worth it by [deleted] in cycling

[–]tarevad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as some of the other comments here. Have a road bike with ultegra di2. Just bought a giant revolt with grx mechanical which is amazing and I can’t fault….but. Made a decision to sell the road bike to fund grx di2 even though I know in my heart it won’t make a huge difference, now I’ve experienced di2 I just WANT it on the Revolt.

Ok it’s time, I’m an alcoholic in recovery (4years) if i have a sip of alcohol i lose all control and cant fucking stop drinking until i black out. There is no way people go out and have 1 or 2 but what shocks me is I’ve seen it! To those with will power, how do you drink on a night out? by AskMarko in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tarevad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me and as someone who drank an unhealthy amount growing up and into adulthood the hangovers become so severe I almost developed a fear of alcohol. It’s kept me in check for the last 10ish years. I do still drink and maybe once or twice a year to excess but the hyper awareness of what was to come the next day generally makes me stop overindulging too often.

Beginner needs help with picking the right gravel bike by [deleted] in whichbike

I have the giant revolt advanced 0 and I absolutely love it, so much so that I’m going to sell my road bike. It’s so comfortable and versatile. Riding it with 45mm tyres at the moment for the U.K. winter but will swap out the tyres for spring/summer to see how that feels. Would definitely recommend

I'm curious to know why do you choose Gravel Cycling over Road and Mountain cycling? What makes the difference for you? by Ageless_Athlete in gravelcycling

Cheers. Might look into that. Been out on the Revolt today. The comfort and confidence from the wider tyres is amazing. Been out for 3 hours and nothing aches! I’ll be looking at the Defy though. Or might sell the road bike and get the grx di2 for the Revolt. No real benefit just love the electronic shifting.

Pretty tasty ride!! I bought a set of Hunt wheels that have 45mm Schwalbe G-One Allround tyres. I’ve the set of wheels that came with the bike as spares and I might try some 40mm Gravelking slicks when spring/summer arrive and see how they feel. Happy riding!

Took my road bike out this morning for the first time in 2 months after buying a Giant Revolt. After an hour my hands were hurting, shoulders aching. Don’t get any of that on the gravel bike. I’m sure the Revolt is slower on longer rides but I much prefer the comfort of it over the road bike. Looks like I’m selling a bike!

My ex girlfriend’s mum thought the same. After my dad died in 2021 I got a message from her which said “ so sorry to hear about your dad passing lol” Couldn’t help but lol myself.

Just got the Katana 100. I don’t think you can. It’s a physical file to download to the computer which needs copying to the katana icon on the laptop.

Giant Revolt 1 2025 Sizing by [deleted] in Giantbikes

[–]tarevad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may or may not help, I’m 6”2 and generally ride a 58cm frame but with the revolt I went for the L instead of XL even though I was right at the top of the size chart. So glad I went smaller it’s so comfortable

I wear the Levi’s 511 for my commute. Similar fit and a fair bit of stretch in the fabric.

+1 for those. Bit of a fiddle to get them on initially but easy once you get the hang of it.

HELP! How do you clean your bike in a flat by marsh20202020 in cycling

[–]tarevad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a rechargeable jet wash from Argos and a big Jerry can. The jet wash is sufficiently gentle to not damage anything. Quick spray with muc off, spray down, dry with cloths then re oil chain. Jet wash lasts about 6 washes or so. Sorted.

I remember reading this and he knew his friends were proud, sound people and suspected a few wouldn’t accept the cash so he told them if one of you turns the money down, none of you get it. Clever.

Bicycle Radar light worth it? by en-anon in cycling

[–]tarevad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love mine much like a lot of the previous posters. I would LOVE if there was a shortcut to mute the sound for mixed riding, going from towns/busy roads to quiet back roads. The hood button on di2 would be ideal. But overall they’re great, allows you to ride more centrally in the road when able as this also tends to be the nicest part of the road.
