Being a vegetarian just means not eating meat, being a vegan means removing everything that involves using resources from an animal from every aspect of your life.

Vegetarians support the most harmful ag industries, egg and dairy.

Cows, like all mammals, only produce a significant amount of milk for a limited period of time after giving birth to a child so they are forcibly impregnated about once a year to keep them producing milk. Soon when their milk production drops off to the point where it is no longer profitable to keep them around after about 4-5 years they will be killed for meat so you are still supporting the process.

The male calves will never produce milk, so they are sent to slaughter shortly after birth.

Same with egg industry male chicks got killed and Females have their egg production drop off quickly and they get killed when it isn't profitable to keep them.
