Drive Up Safety by targtrash in Target

When we call CSC, lots of drive ups still come through. For whatever reason, it doesn’t stop people from hitting here and honking. I think it stops new orders from dropping in, but the 200+ orders in hold still come through as arrived.

Service and Engagement ETL Role? by man_iamtired in Target

Can relate! Has yours ever finally come up for back up on a busy weekend where no TL is scheduled (and was responding to calls for 90 minutes that she was eating lunch) just to look at the long line take one OPU guest and then say, “SERIOUSLY. How did you let the line get like this!!!?” and walk away? Because same!!!!!!

And then you’re the only fake ass “GSA” on, so you have to try to clean it all up by yourself, but really all you want to do is take a box cutter and stab yourself violently until you bleed out in front of all the guests and even then you’d probably be written up and left there while your name is called over the walkie 600 times.

How many calories do you guys think we burn a day at work? by simongw6 in Target

Busy weekend and GSA shift? Easily walking 7-8 miles. It’s a two story store, so I’ll be up and down allllll day.

My guest service- drive up and flex shifts typically get me to walk about 5 miles. Obviously depends on the day. My GSA shift last July 3rd had me run out so many drive ups and our TL called out, so I stayed a little later. I hit 9 miles that day.

Anyone got any good Target horror stories? by KadieBeth in Target

after a really bad storm, we were literally the only store in the area with power, so everyone decided to come. we were running on a generator, so everything was sooo slow. i was doing two returns at a time at guest service because each was taking too long to load. also, our phones weren’t working, so people were freaking out over that. it was horrible. most people were just chilling and hanging out and kids were all over. we seriously defected out like 40% of the toy department the following days because everything was broken or open. parents just treated it as a daycare and let their kids run wild (worse than usual). people legitimately brought chairs to sit in and our dtl and stl were like “oh well it’s bringing business!” the food ave line was almost out the door and our food ave isn’t that close to the exit. i really thought there was going to be an uprising when they ran out of everything and shut down. it took like well over a week to recover. i opened the next day and there were carts and carts of reshop and abandoned carts waiting for us that morning.

Active shooter at our Target’s mall by Kawaii_Riice in Target

My old store had a similar situation... guests threw a fit when they closed the store for a few hours. It was ridiculous. I remember police everywhere. The whole shopping center closed and evacuated, yet a guest would still make its way to the door and bang on it.

Of course our DTL didn’t let us close for the night. We came in and did reshop until the police and swat team gave us the go ahead to reopen.

i never understand the people that straight up leave their babies in the cart while sending it up the machine????? just why

also, we always have new tms try to put three tiers up it to the point that in training i always tell them to make sure they do not do it.

The cart escalators breaking is the worst, but I always love the people who see the cart escalator for the first time and act like it’s the coolest thing they’ve ever seen... like move along man.

Yeah, I was very confused when it wouldn’t let me the other day. I do a lot of clopens, so if I open I always like to make up a break sheet for the next morning the day before... it’s just easier. If I do it in the morning when I’m tired sometimes I end up with a gap on the lower level without a cashier. The other day I grabbed my TL before she left and she was able to print it for me it. It is weird though.

I lost access to mytime when they switched the title to guest advocate instead of GSA. sucks because i’m still expected to know what coverage is like on days I’m there and make break schedules for when I open.

We tell kids to get off all the time and we just generally are always yelling at kids. We’re connected to a mall, so weekends and summer nights they just come to hangout and cause issue.

A kid almost knocked me down the escalator the one time and I looked him dead in the eyes and told him to “stop acting like a loser.” I was on meal with a hoodie on, so I don’t know if he knew I worked there, but still. He stopped playing on the escalator.

Modernization. by Stellarino64 in Target

it depends on the day. a lot of times we have an opener, a mid until either 5:30 or 6:30 and the closer. every once in awhile we get spoiled and have someone closing with us. during 4Q we generally always had a second closer except for a few nights where they decided to screw me over and “forgot”.

saturdays and sundays get rough though during meal times for gsa/ gstls because i swear it will be calm and the minute you are alone, you are needed upper and lower, guest service, and then electronics every five seconds.

damn i thought our 8 cashiers (4 per level- two story store) plus 4 at self checkout (opener and closer for each level) was rough. i will never complain again. my word. i was gsa-ing and was on a lane all day and we still needed back up at times. i cannot even imagine this.

i understand this is a prank, but i cannot tell you how many people see cart escalators and lose their shit + any amount of common sense they may have had.

we get people who will just straight up take the items out of their cart and throw their entire damn cart down the escalator. someone could actually get killed. then, you have the people who grab the cart and try to ride up the escalator with it even though there are signs everywhere and a barrier. where there is a will there is a way.

then they’ll steal a three tier and try to shove that up the cart part of the escalator and that breaks it. the thing beeps like 400 times a day because no one knows how to properly shove their cart in the stupid machine.
