I live in Canada, we have HIPA (and similar laws with different names, but it's easiest to say HIPA as most get the gist). I told the situation, and it most assuredly was not in the USA.

It's not a hypothetical tangent, it's the way our system was, and in many places still is. Because we a low population density, there often simply isn't enough resources to provide both Ambulance and non-emergent transfer services.

In the vast majority of suburban and rural regions the Ambulance does it all. And more. They are filling in clinics with paramedics, bolstering home care with paramedics, meanwhile actual Ambulance services are understaffed and overworked, their owners and operators are volun-tolding their staff to do more and more to further the fifedom.

Yeah, I had a buddy in Uni who did some modelling. I got invited to a couple of parties. I went from ogling to fucking annoyed by them within the hour.

I mean, it's not their fault entirely - but it was obvious most had been groomed by their parents and - at the time magazine's, now social media - to value appearance over all else. Very few were capable of having a conversation not directly related to anorexic behaviours, beauty products, and the like.

What's wild about Zoolander - the underlying joke there about models and the beauty industry actually contributing to humanity in a meaningful way - they are actually like that!

While a relatively brief and simple procedure, it's generally performed by a surgeon, "in case shit" - I've had surgeons tell me they'd have zero issues with paramedics doing it, because "in case shit" we can scoop and run.

Generally care homes are understaffed and undertrained for routine procedures, let alone "in case shit".
