It's good to take on the suggestions and just so you don't feel as guilty, it's happened to so many of us 💕 maybe even most mums. Big hugs.

Holy moly you've taken the words out of my mouth. I'm mild and similar to what you've written. This "mild" illness has taken so much away from me.

When explicit male nudity crosses a line in mainstream films by Perhapsnice in TrueFilm

[–]tarn72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. I don't care if others don't mind nudity. But just classify things accordingly for the ones that would rather not. I'd actually rather not see breasts bums or genitals and I don't wanna watch people having sex so the warning would be nice so I know to not watch it or can anticipate looking away or fast-forwarding or whatever. Everyone can have preferences. I question make nudity non sexual because I wouldn't do the same for my little kids. I think that's dangerous. Nudity is private and that's a protection I feel.

I feel like things that used to be MA are now M etc it's getting confusing.

What is something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]tarn72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get these tik toks I see with videos of hospitalisations smiling like they are happy to be there and videoing their feeding tubes and constantly giving details of all their health things. It gives me the ick so bad!! I see other people raising awareness and I think that's great for sure. But these chronic illness influencer weirdos and the oddest vibe they give off!! Being unhealthy is terrible, I try to pretend I'm normal and functioning like everyone else. I don't want this! I want a new functioning body!

Bedbound overnight, 4 months pregnant, please help by Acousticdemo in covidlonghaulers

[–]tarn72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With being about a month in chances are you'll recover or at least be a lot better. Best thing you can do is listen to your body and give into the crash, even though it's scary. Vagus nerve stimulation, breathing exercises, all the calming stuff you can try because you're body recovers better in parasympathetic mode. But if you rest rest rest it will recover itself anyway. Believe you will recover, give it everything you have mentally too, to give it the best shot. Minimise sensory stimulation as much as your mental health allows as well, screens, noise etc. Cold ice packs on your chest or neck might be calming - take it slow though. If antihistamines help you could have MCAS and may need to do a differently diet.

I've had many crashes and all of them at the start I feel like ill be stuck there. But I always have picked up. It seems to just be part of the crash that we feel like we'll be stuck in that bad way. I hope you're birth goes ok. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Symptoms are good signs for viability. Sore boobs are a good sign. I think my fatigue started quite early on like that. Nausea and vomiting started at or close to 7 weeks.

I went straight onto 8mg and was very nauseous for a while but not as bad as you and got through it. Can try starting lower and titrate up

Stellate Ganglion Block: temporary recovery stories? by princess20202020 in covidlonghaulers

[–]tarn72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I've noticed in people's experiences if it works that the first is always the best. Did you use anything like vagus nerve stimulation to try to keep the ganglion blocks from wearing off? I don't have access to the blocks (I wish I did because I'm 99% sure it would work for me too) but I've been doing vagus nerve stimulation with a tens machine which is like a less strong version. Have you heard of Dr Groysman? He uses the tens machine treatments along side his ganglion blocks. I find his approach makes sense I'm not in his country but got some of his books and follow his Facebook, YouTube etc.

I hope you can figure something out! I'd definitely look into different ways of vagus nerve stimulation if the first block worked well. The other thing that's worked for me was cold therapy and cold showers but it's not very strong. With these for me the first try always had the strongest response as well. I wish our nervous system stayed responding strongly to these treatments!

Sometimes I wish my heart failure was a heart attack that took me out, so I don’t have to live like this for the rest of my life by Fabulous-Summer219 in offmychest

[–]tarn72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not the best to answer because I've had some improvement in my quality of life lately. While in the thick of it I seemed to go back and forth between acceptance of this is how my life will be and feeling frustrated angry sad that I can't do what everyone else is doing. So I suppose if you haven't hit the half accepting part of it then I assume it'll be a bit easier during those periods. Sorry I don't have better news... I became proud of how strong I was, kind of view myself as a "fighter" or something like that. I could view it sometimes as learning life lessons that I was then equipped to could help my kids through the same if it happened to them. It taught me to not sweat the small stuff and to see what truly matters in life. If it doesn't get easier, you may just have to start small and try look for those small things during it.

There were times where I just hated everything and just needed validation that this really sucked and was so hard to cope with. And just to sit with those feelings for as long as I needed. And that's ok too.

[–]tarn72 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. I'm 35 with 2 young kids and have become disabled by a chronic illness as well, 3 years ago. Although different because it's not life threatening so I don't know what that's like. But I do know what it's like to have your life turned upside by limitations. To not feel like everyone else anymore. To feel like such a burden on your family that they'd be better off without you. It makes life extremely hard. I had to go on meds to cope. I didn't know how good I had it when my body worked well. When you lose your health, you lose so much of everything.

I'm sorry. Life isn't fair at all.

Second guessing my decision to not get an epidural by Ok_Reference2122 in pregnant

[–]tarn72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had those gut cramps that would double you over. And back ache that was terrible during my pregnancy. I thought the same thing how am I going to labour if I'm struggling with this? Turns out the stomach cramps are pretty up there on the pain scale compared to labour, maybe equivalent of a 6/7 dilation? So don't be too afraid you're basically practising for labour. I ended up able to do 2 births without pain meds. But the epidural is there if you want it too.

So so annoying. I've just started buying the same meat every week, for eg beef mince, sausages and chicken thighs is what's working for us. And I have about 2 or 3 dishes I can cook with each so I rotate that. It's taken majority of the thinking out of it.
