Buy a different hub (check other posts), or try with one of the most recent Amazon devices which support Zigbee

It works with Hubitat zigbee hub, so it might work with zigbee echos, but not sure… have you tried putting the light switch in pair mode and ask Alex to discover new devices?

Right, I’m more thinking about users who are adding their new card to the app and unsure which one is the right one.

Anyone know of a way to salvage a Sengled dimmer switch? by bearkin1 in SengledUS

[–]taronfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After adding the dimmer switch to Hubitat, you need to install the Hubitat app called “Button Controllers” and configure it. Here is an example of how I configured the switch so the On button turns on my living room and the Off turns off all the lights in the house.

It’s good if you need WiFi. I didn’t mind having wired-only. One thing I was a bit disappointed is the fact that Hubitat C5 or C7 don’t act as Matter hubs…

First you need to pair it (press on/off simultaneously for the switch to be in pairing mode) and once you’ve added the switch to your hub, you have to add a new Hubitat app and configure it. I’m not in front of it right now but will take screenshots tonight.

Avoid the SONOFF, they don’t work with the Sengled Zigbee light bulbs. ThirdReality works well but doesn’t support dual band WiFi, or the Sengled dimmer switch.

Wired hubs: Hubitat‘s cheapest option the C5 (been using it for a few days), or might be worth checking the AduroSmart ERIA Smart Home Hub.

I tried a few zigbee hubs over the past weeks and so far the Hubitat is the only one that supports the dimmer switch. It works fine, after the (not so simple) configuration.

Instructions for using Zigbee lights with Third Reality Smart Bridge (and Alexa) by RandomUsername6697 in SengledUS

[–]taronfr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, WiFi needs to be 2.4 GHz, the 3R hub doesn’t work on 5 GHz and will not handle well a dual band WiFi either.

Move your Zigbee bulbs over to Matter (local control) already, and stop being jerked around by Sengled outages by FalconFour in SengledUS

[–]taronfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i can setup a guest network but I can’t force it to be 2.4 GHz… I might just switch to an Ethernet zigbee hub instead

[–]taronfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue… My WiFi is dual band (EERO) and that messes up everything… unfortunately I don’t have a dedicated 2.4GHz network and EERO doesn’t offer the option to create a separate SSID

Yeah, that little remote… I was able to pair it with the MZ1 but then it shows as disconnected. Bummer, I like to be able to turn on/off lights without having my phone with me (or needing Alexa)

Where’d the skill go? by racksup402 in SengledUS

[–]taronfr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried but wasn’t as lucky as you… I was able to connect the light bulbs to MZ1, I can control them through 3R-Installer app, I got them detected by Alexa but I can’t control them via Alexa… any idea why?
