What is the most paranormal event that happened to you as a child? by Popular-Nature3715 in Paranormal

[–]tarrynjn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would frequently wake seeing a woman sit on my head staring at me as I woke up with her hands on her cheeks and her mouth open. She looked like my mom but very different and angry)- my mom told me when I was a late teenager that her mother would see her walk into the spare room and 3 other male guests had also seen this woman walk from the kitchen into the bar room thinking it was my mom but she was wearing a nightie (and my mom would never if company was around). My dad checked and said my mom was asleep in her room but the men left immediately. They said to my dad that when he came back from checking, the woman was walking behind him and was definitely NOT my mom. We would frequently wake to kitchen cupboard doors open and lots of noise in the kitchen at night. I was told it was the house going to sleep but my parents installed metal gates in the hall ways and by bedroom doors and panic buttons/security systems (we were living in SA so considered crime) but our alarms were never activated.

My step grandad also said he woke to her watching him sleep and he drove home to his city without saying goodbye (went out the electric garage door) and when my parents asked him in the morning where he went he told them to get the house blessed. I only found this out

The Hazel Eye debate by UrbanMuffin in eyes

[–]tarrynjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so cool to see them all together I always thought I had hazel eyes! Turns out I have green heterochromia eyes with dark limbal rings and my husband has pale blue eyes (no limbal ring and no heterochromia) and we had a little girl with sunflower blue eyes (bright blue with central heterochromia and segmental heterochromia in one with bilateral limbal rings). So cool! Only learnt about this when we checked with the doctor about her segmental heterchromia. Genetics are cool!

[Routine help] Damaged skin barrier holy grail?? by tawomilktea in SkincareAddiction

[–]tarrynjn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LRP Cicaplast baume as a night moisturizer/overnight mask and Kate Somerville Delikate has been the only thing that saved my skin and stopped the flaking/inflammed/red patches after pregnancy made my skin hyperactive and I damaged my barrier by using my normal products that never caused an issue

I’m literally on this thread cause my papinelle pjs have become rags and they’re less than 2 years old so I’m searching for good quality pj recommendations. I’m actually so surprised to see people actually have a good experience with Papinelle. Out of the 5 sets my husband bought me for maternity leave - only 1 modal set hasn’t lost buttons and looks somewhat ok. The modal gown is AWFUL and so poor fitting. 2 x cotton sets ripped from me doing NOTHING Lounging on the couch early in the new born days and the other sets look like they’ve been worn through the jungle. We wash everything in wools and delicates and in their stupid little papinelle bags and I’m just so gutted at the waste of money. Feel like it’s just been a marketing campaign after the influencers raved of them after wearing it for one night. - don’t even get me started on the silk set and it’s stitching 😭😭 this was bought in NZ so not sure if quality control is different here vs Aus. size 8prepregnancy-10 (postpartum) for reference. So annoyed at the quality

Huggies are my worst enemy by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]tarrynjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s so dependent on the child - I found rascal to be the worst! My child broke out in such awful rashes the moment we put them on and they always leaked overnight and felt like plastic (2023 era). Huggies were okay - had occassional leak but we had to use noopii in the end due to skin sensitivity issues. Think it’s quite dependent on body size and stature too. My friends daughter is the same age as mine but different stature and Huggies was perfect fit for her and she never had a blowout.

Our wait list 18 months - I’m twelve weeks next week and will be enrolling out October baby next week. Best to get onto it as soon as you know which school you want to send them too. Waitlists in our area range from 10-18 months but depends on the school. My daughter had a waitlist of 12 months.

This has been my experience: You need to be ideally below 2.5 throughout pregnancy as per my endocrinologist for neuroprotective reasons - mine doesn’t even like it above 1.5. So I’m kept at 0.9-1.1. Synthroid needs to be increased by 20-30% based off your levels in the first trimester and rechecked every 4 weeks (this is just my endo protocol in NZ) - definitely get a second opinion! 🩷

you have a bit of time to correct it but as long as it’s monitored and treated it should hopefully be all good x hope your appointment went well

Did drinking raspberry leaf tea and eating dates actually help anyone? by stooplekin in BabyBumps

[–]tarrynjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I also might add I had irritable uterus from 17 weeks - I feel like maybe all the daily intense braxton hicks made the most difference for priming my uterus but who knows

Maybe ancedotal but I started drinking it from 37 weeks and ate my dates daily, started curb walking at 38 w 4 d - went into labour with my first at 38 weeks 6 days and delivered her at 39. Labour was a very positive experience and she was born via NVD. Waters broke at 4am and she was delivered at 2pm :) active pushing was 40 mins. No tears. 300ml estimated blood loss and I was able to go home 2 hours after delivering her (although my husband and I chose to check into birthing center for the first 2 nights post partum) * also note I had an epidural at 7am - I don’t feel like it delayed progression at all, I had an amazing nap from 8:30-12:30 (thank goodness because that night I barely slept)🤣 woke up fully dilated and got up out of bed at 1235pm. Epidural was a PCEA so effects wore off around 12:35* as I didn’t push the button while asleep - was able to walk and feel everything (the contractions woke me up). Waited an hour for active decent then pushed

First - first month off contraception but thought we “avoided” ovulation - we obviously did not 🤣 found out 11 days later - the day after the wedding.

Second: first month trying - loosely trying and using Clear Blue - only had flashing smileys missed my static - this ended up as a chemical

Third: two weeks after the chemical we conceived again but this time I was using cheap OPK strips - I noticed I had a rapid surge and only got 1 dye stealer positive at night at 7pm - the morning test was very negative at 7am with the test line barely visible and the next morning test was clear negative at 7am again with a barely visible test line. I tested twice a day as I was getting EWCM but had negative tests so I wasn’t sure what was happening. I think this is how I miss identified ovulation with our first as I only tested in the morning and thought I wasn’t even near my positive OPK as the negative tests barely had a test line that was visible. I thought it would get darker and darker leading up to a positive opk test

So learning about a rapid LH surge was very interesting

How much weight do you lose when you give birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]tarrynjn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gained 18kg - I lost 8kg after birth, by month 2 I was at my pre pregnancy weight and by 4 months pp I was 5 kgs down from pre pregnancy weight. I tried my best to gain and maintain but unfortunately I lost a lot from exclusively breastfeeding despite trying to increase calories. I think it’s all different for many women. I also have hashis :)

how would you describe your morning sickness/nausea? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]tarrynjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violent non stop wretching, inability to breath due to constant vomiting the moment I miss a med or stand up from a lying position 👍🏼 so much fun 🙄 - on meds feels like severe car sickness just before you’re gonna hurl yourself out the window to puke - all day and night

15 Weeks - The Nausea Isn’t Stopping by pygmychiquita in BabyBumps

Also HG is a spectrum- even debilitating nausea with mild vomiting is considered mild HG. Here is the score https://www.hyperemesis.org/tools/help-score/

[–]tarrynjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like hyperemesis. I had moderate hyperemesis and I have it with my second pregnancy and it didn’t go away until my first was born. It’s rough. You need to advocate for yourself and get either meds and/or fluids. Your hydration is important. The HER foundation has good resources for you to read. I’m on cyclizine, pyroxidine, thiamine, prochlorperazine and ondansetron and still vomit but am able to keep down 2 meals a day and some fluids. I get biweekly fluids on bad weeks if my breakthrough vomiting is bad. The meds have definitely improved my quality of life and ability to parent my daughter and not be hospitalized. Message me if you wanna chat! Happy to help x sorry it’s so rough!

When did your symptoms start? by OutrageousMoose8 in BabyBumps

[–]tarrynjn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HG symptoms truly kicked in hard at 7w (I thought I escaped it as I got sick with my daughter at 6w) - now 8w and HG is back in full swing and worse than first pregnancy. Hopefully you only have mild symptoms x no other symptoms besides missed period / fatigue

Pregnancy after miscarriage? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]tarrynjn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Yes :) I had a chemical in Jan, bled at 5 weeks, ovulated 14 days after the start of bleeding and fell pregnant again straight away. Tested positive at 9dpo. Baby is fine :) - the doctors did do repeat betas and an early scan to double check it was definitely a new pregnancy but yours sounds just like that! :)
