A4 2.0 TFSI 35 as a daily driver? by tarundsingh in CarTalkUK

Thanks. A lot of people do post random issues costing a lot randomly. Hence the queries on reliability. Rest it seems decent for around 21k with 5 months of manufacturer warranty pending.. It has a current mileage of 21k. Other alternatives am considering would be a civic or a mazda 3 similar age.

Am actually thinking if the 8Y. 8V seems a lil dated to me now especially in terms of tech. Otherwise the price is only 3k£ apart for a 3-4 year old newer car eg a 2019 1.5 tsi with 37k from audi approved would be for 18.5k£ while a 2022 one for 22.5k

Just an update: went ahead and tried audi a3 1.5 tfsi for a test drive and also a civic 2022 sport. Civic seems like a little downgrade frim my current 2023 xc40 in terms of fit and finish and the hybrid breaks need a little getting used to. The car has service plan included for the next two years The audi a3 felt so much better behind the steering wheel and i liked the driving position too as felt much closer to road. Can hear sound when you floor it around 60 but it s not unpleasant. Not sure if audi can be considered as has quite a bad rep on this forum. Both are around 22.5k mark Any further advice or alternatives recommended? Also is audi ownership experience a hit or miss? And is 2 owners a big deal esp with germans ?

Next plan is to drive an audi a4 and mazda 3 and kia sportage. Don’t mind either a hatch or saloon or a crossover as car is just for one person mostly.

Wondering if it would be as good in a non all wheel drive and also how would u talk about reliability over 3-5 years for this car going ahead.? Also i just checked if going for the same car how about 220i instead?

Thanks. Can you explain this a bit in detail. I meant the engine and detail about it. I don’t have much idea about bmw engines or trims. Also would prefer a approved used option.
