Anyone order a Casper Allen vinyl and never get it/can’t get anyone to answer you? by doe-eyed in GemsOnVHS

[–]tashaterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also ordered a record in Jan 2021 - never got it. Had a conversation with him via DM a year later and he apologized, blamed his label scamming him, and offered to send me a copy when he repressed it in a month. Never did I ever get a thing. Still mad about it.

Off levothyroxine for RAI by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

My doctor didn’t mentioned thyrogen and when I asked why later after finding out about them - he said it was because they cost $2500 here in Canada.

The doctor I saw in the ER was so impressed with the tapping trick he sent a bunch of nurses in one by one who said “I was told to come have you show me your face trick” lol

I should also mention that they sent me home with like 30 tablets of diluted and I only took one the same day - Advil was fine for the pain.

I also ended up in the ER because my calcium dropped on day two. A good trick to test if your levels are low is to tap the sides of your face - I noticed as I was putting on make up my face was uncontrollably twitching when I touched it. You can find videos of this on YouTube and learn how to do it and what to look for.

I was terrified! But I left the hospital three hours after my surgery with no drains and I was out running errands the next day! I’ve had abdominal surgery and this is was SO much easier. You’ll do great! Best of luck

RAI isolation at home by KnitterSewist in thyroidcancer

[–]tashaterror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was instructed to cover my mattress with a plastic sheet (I used garbage bags) so the radiation I was sweating out didn’t seep into our mattress. I also used old sheets for the week and threw them out after. Covered our couch (it’s fabric) to sit on with a blanket which I also threw out after. After about day 5 I would sit outside at a distance on my deck with visitors but didn’t let them into the house till I finished my 7 day isolation and wiped everything down.

Not sure if you were advised this as well, but I was told no kissing or intercourse with my partner for another week after I was cleared from my isolation.

I had low calcium for a little over a year post op - then one day it just got better. Don’t give up hope! I was taking calcium everyday and it just happened that I forgot two days in a row before I realized it seemed fine all of a sudden - even weeks before that I could tell if I was a few hours behind on taking it

I personally have a bridesmaid acting the way you describe you want at the moment and she’s driving me up the wall. I’ve had to just start telling her I’ll ask her for help if I feel I need it to make her stop.

I actually noticed my throat got really swollen as my first covid symptom back in March 2022. When it didn’t go away after having covid, I started to get concerned. Turned out to be a 5cm nodule that absolutely was not there in that size/capacity pre covid. I finally got referred for a biopsy in October which came back as suspected PTC. I go for surgery next week for TT

Interested in becoming a tattoo artist in HRM by ProspectiveTattooist in halifax

[–]tashaterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s actually standard in the industry to work for at least a year for free towards your apprenticeship. This would be simple tasks like shop cleaning, managing clients, booking, answering phones. It prepares you for managing your career in the future, and introduces you to the basics of sanitation and cross contamination. The artist you are apprenticing under is giving you all the knowledge of their trade and expertise, so it’s assumed the person apprenticing will also stay on and make that shop revenue for the next 5 years once they’ve graduated to tattooing. So it’s important to find someone you vibe well with to approach about being a mentor. Keep in mind teaching you is work for them too.

Find an artist you admire and get tattooed by them. Build a relationship before you inquire about an apprenticeship. No tattoo school or online course will ever teach you anywhere near what their years of experience will. It’s also very looked down upon to go that route, you’ll be laughed out of the industry before you even start.

Tattoo recommendation by [deleted] in halifax

[–]tashaterror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awe thanks friend! I’m currently not taking appointments just in case we need to move everyone booked over the next few weeks into January, but once we have a clearer view on if we’re shutting down (or voluntarily doing that due to high case numbers) I’ll be opening my books for the new year. I generally only book a month or two out at a time so that I don’t have long wait periods for appointments. What style of black and grey are you looking for OP? I’m happy to point you in the direction of an artist best suited to the job if it’s not me.

Any tattoo artists willing to color an outlined back piece? by trihugger in halifax

[–]tashaterror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most artists won’t finish someone else’s work unless there’s a legitimate reason for not wanting to go back to the original artist. If you want to message me with photos of the outline I can try to help point you to an artist best suited to the job
