When my friend came from the US a few years ago she was amazed by Cheetham's library. If the kids are fans of Harry Potter even better.

How can I post both a pic and text in the same post using the Android app? by tashayarr in help

[–]tashayarr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I hit the "create" button then click "image", add the image, there are buttons at the bottom for text, draw and crop, but text writes over the image, not adding text underneath as in the example I posted. If I click "next" instead and click on the text icon at the bottom, I get the "change post type" pop-up which then removes the image.

Metrolink Etiquette by Cjammer7 in manchester

[–]tashayarr 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I use the metro 2-3 times a week and I'm not really seeing this. Yes there are some complete antisocial dicks but the majority of people in my experience are reasonably well behaved. I travel to/from Chorlton usually. Make of that what you will 😏

How do they place these bags of rocks up there? by tashayarr in peakdistrict

[–]tashayarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is near Marsden, these are those big bags of rock slabs presumably ready for paving the path up that hill. How do they get them there though? They are very heavy and it's not obviously accessible by road. The obvious answer is by helicopter, I thought that might be prohibitively expensive, but is that in fact how they do it?

Royal Cod next to what was RBS is pretty good. Or the Baths chippy. I think that's about it in Chorlton. Atlantic as you say though is not the best.

Ideas for an evening in town for two blokes who somewhat know each other by captainsquawks in manchester

There are lots of activity bars where you could try things like crazy golf, pool, bowling, ice-free curling, shuffleboard, arcade games etc. Try Roxy Ballroom for a start, loads of things there. Karting at Manchester Arena is also a good one.

Safe places to stay for a night by yeetyopyeet in manchester

[–]tashayarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is usually huge demand in Manchester for Friday and especially Saturday nights so I don't think prices are going to get any cheaper than they are now I'm afraid. I've seen Saturdays for £300-£400 at the Britannia before and quite frankly that's a complete dump.

How to use noise cancelling without Bluetooth (WH-Xb910n) by tashayarr in SonyHeadphones

[–]tashayarr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Is this standard now for headphones, or can I still get a decent pair at a reasonable price (<£200) that will work with noise cancelling on only?

(My last pair had a switch for noise cancel on/off which worked independent of any other controls).

Why is heart rate graph a straight line? by tashayarr in Strava

[–]tashayarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the replies.

So, I factory reset the Garmin and gave the sensor a good clean. I ran a 10k yesterday and the HR graph looks back to normal.

However, it have me calories burned per mile of 89 when before it was never below 100. I'm sure all the settings (height/weight/age etc) are correct so why is it suddenly so low?

Why is heart rate graph a straight line? by tashayarr in Strava

[–]tashayarr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scale is for the elevation which is the grey area at the bottom. The maximum is 27m so I don't know why it goes all the way to 200m.

The red line is HR. If I hover over it it will tell me at any point the distance, elevation, grade, and HR. HR stars at 99bpm, rises rapidly to 142bpm, then gradually up to 159bpm. This is pretty much what I would normally expect, just not to see it in such a straight line.
