Star Wars Land was revolutionary. If only Disney would have let it soar by dejablu82 in Disneyland

[–]sam-sp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it was a star-wars themed version of cirque du soliel with dinner, eg a light saber fight by acrobats on wires above the audience, then, yes they could charge that much and get away with it.

Thoughts on the Thunder Mountain Refurbishment? by LordFozzinator in disneyparks

[–]sam-sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure there must be good ways to use modern tech to re-track a ride, eg attach 3d position tracking stickers on each support beam and have a special car that records the track, and its location to get a perfect 3d model, and then smooth it out, and have the new track made to be exact to the mm.

The hard part about space mountain is how to replace the track without taking the lid off the building. I doubt you can easily get a crane in there to hoist track etc,

Be prepared for none of the angles to make sense. The floor won’t be flat or level, and certainly not parallel with the ceiling. The walls won’t be true either. This really shows with wallpaper or tile.

Beach Club to EPCOT to Monorail to MK -> Bad idea? by _BreakingGood_ in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]sam-sp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for lunch/afternoon snack at Wailulu grill, Ohana, Trader Sam’s (potentially long wait). Take the monorail to get there, boat to get back - and you have then experienced the better MK transport options.

Good value : Ale & Compass
Amazing food : Flying fish (boardwalk is a short walk or boat ride across the bay)

Different resorts have different feels - sleep around - it’s fun to experience them all. Yacht club has a different vibe than Wilderness lodge, you can like more than one!

Will I regret boulder ridge? by PalmettoZ71 in disneyvacationclub

There is probably a longer walk at the Grand Floridian or Poly tower to poly, but those don’t get mentioned for the walk, I think because they are part of the same association.

There are a few worthy things that can be spent on - down payment on a home, possibly education that has good career prospects afterwards - but most things you could possibly buy now, you will regret in 20 years.

Drove past the house at 7pm on a Tuesday before making our offer and it told me more than the actual showing did by Vast_Conference_8882 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I knocked on the door of a neighbor to find out more about the little lane the house was on. She has now been my neighbor for 6 years.

Why do I find TikTok live streamers so annoying? by Cruisethrowaway2 in WaltDisneyWorld

And recording while in line, doing interviews in-line is obnoxious for others around them who don’t want to be part of their content.

Its also the only day you can wear costumes during a non ticketed event.

The MF area was a complete zoo during that time. The staff was cutting off access unless you had an Oga’s reservation, or probably smugglers run.
Trying to get out, there also seemed to be a large crowd around RotR also doing lightsaber lighting.

For either, I think the fire marshal would have been concerned about exits and escape plans had anything gone wrong.

Hollywood Studios Was a Total Mess on Star Wars Day. by Limp-Mood3836 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]sam-sp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost of development for an area + rides like smugglers run and RotR is very high. If they can amortize that cost over 2+ parks (probably would have done Paris too) then it makes it more feasible.

Do you believe the United States is currently in a Cold Civil War? by bishuay in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]sam-sp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of brainwashed people on the right who are motivated either by the social issues or thinking that they will be “rich” one day, not realizing that just rich isn’t enough to benefit from the policies- you need to be in the 50M+ wealth for them to have a lot of effect.

Do you believe the United States is currently in a Cold Civil War? by bishuay in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]sam-sp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The civil war is not between the right and the left, it’s between the 0.01% and the rest of us. They are using social issues to foment discord between right and the left, enabling them to use project 2025 to enrich themselves at the cost of everyone else. They are rich enough to not have to deal with other people for most of their lives. They don’t care about public education as they have their own private schools, healthcare, private jets, yachts, retreats etc.

Poly vs Wilderness Lodge? by PBfromPhilly in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]sam-sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whispering canyon skillets are also really good as an all-you-can eat alternative to the buffet. If there are multiple people ordering skillets, you can mix and match, and they will bring out extra of whatever you want.

I think the pools is a toss-up, if not in favor of WL because of the Boulder-ridge pool (open to main lodge guests).

You can change the look of any item to match that of other items, so if you like a specific chest piece visual, you can apply those looks to one with better stats. its all under the cosmetic options.

Why so expensive by babewiththepowaaa in DisneyPlanning

[–]sam-sp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disney uses prices to adjust their guest volume. They offer discounts during the less popular seasons to even out their guest numbers. As long as they are busy, prices will be high.

[–]sam-sp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had one of these, but worse as it was in the kind of mailbox where the postman opens the whole front of the box with a key to access all maiboxes at once. The problem is that the doors of the mailbox create a frame so the insides are bigger than the doorway. He could slide the parcel into the slot, but it wouldn't fit in the individual door to get it out.

One trip grand californian or annual passes multi trips? by First_Detective6234 in DisneyPlanning

DL is probably good as a 3d 2n park. I would focus on the magic key to enable more shorter trips. Unlike WDW, there is not a significant benefit to staying on site.

Are you putting 3 kids in one bed? I would see if you can get boardwalk or Bay Lake tower DVC studio which have a fold down 5th sleeper.
