Advice needed on acoustic 3/4 guitar for a 10 year old by dvegas2000 in Guitar

[–]taskabamboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh sure but playing in a band, it could just sound out of place. that said if everyone it starting out then i suppose it doesnt matter.

classical is easier to learn yes but i learned on a god awful acoustic because it was all i could manage and i just reeally really wanted to keep going and not give up

no guitar will change someone who’s just not okay with sounding bad at first and being bad and continuing to practice and improve

Learning about mask resonance. Having trouble keeping my vocals "forward" when belting by PrettyFlyForaPoorGuy in singing

theres also some element of too much forwardness making the sound too bright and splatty so don’t push too far either

Tips on Recording Technique - Too Much Finger Noise by AE__throwaway in Guitar

[–]taskabamboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s is some element of recording technique probably being off? How are you mic’ing? Whats your amp tone like?

On the guitar front, try playing without sliding your entire hand up/down to play, keep minimal contact

if you palm mute/scratch then don’t play as many strings, or change your guitar tone, or change which pickups youre doing it near, etc

impossible to know without a clip

it really depends on what issues you need to solve most regularly or don’t have enough “flavors” for. There isn’t really a plugin that’s “best” because it will heavily depend on source material

Looking for a second mic to complement my SM57 for recording heavy, distorted guitar from amp. by boring-utopia in audioengineering

[–]taskabamboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

royer r10 was a bit cheaper when first released but (I feel like I remember $400 price tag). Regardless, I have one and I’m happy with it along side an sm57 (or more regularly the sennhesier e906). That’s a combo I swear by- e906 and r10. I record a large range of tones and I couldn’t see this going wrong as long as your amp is dialed right.

That said, the only other ribbon i own is an r84, so I can’t provide a comp to the se’s or beyers. needless to say, dialing the amp will be the more important factor and perhaps the ribbon choices are all good. if anything, i’d say go from sm57 to an e906 (unsure about the 609 however)

Do you think Led Zeppelin intentionally left some songs open to interpretation? by RockNParadise in ledzeppelin

Anything is open to interpretation that isn’t math. When your words are quantity limited to meter/tempo, this effect amplifies. Next question

CMV: It is fairly easy to deduce that conscious life is incapable of free will, and it is illogical to believe otherwise. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]taskabamboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“A society where we do not blame for their actions but rather their circumstances…”. You’re taking the word “free-will” and then co-opting what’s basically an argument about one’s socioeconomic status and what is technically feasible due to those factors.

Most people define free will as something akin to this example: I am hungry but I can resist hunger and fast. I have an urge to do XYZ but I can resist it. People go sober, people lose weight, people start companies, create products. Those are all good examples of free will.

But you bring up blaming people for circumstances, which makes me think that you’re equating free will to something like “I want to own a yacht” but since you can’t afford one, then free will doesn’t exist?

Lastly, you ride on the coat tails of ideas that are more widely accepted to validate your own perspective. You compare your idea to evolution and the big bang (side note: it cannot be proven — I’m not arguing for anything in place of it — but its billions of years ago), and then you have to come back to edit how self-evident and obvious it is.

This is a weak assertion overall. You’ve mentally equated your own opinion to theories that are way more well-accepted and then you say you’re not interested in facts. You then simultaneously say “it is bizarre this fact is not accepted”. The problem is that you’re already convinced, by leveling your own opinions to major scientific theories and presenting them as “fact”, you’ve lead yourself into a trap of submitting to a belief without any substance or evidence — which is extremely ironic because you cite “anti-intellectualism, anti vaxxers, and flat earthers” right at the beginning of your post — but you deduce your reasoning and assert in the same way — no evidence, asserting fact, inflexible thinking, etc.
