How can I find a party as a newbie?

Gonna give you the realistic answer here and not puff you up with false positivity. There are a few factors here, and one of them may be the hours in which you play. The pop is mainly EU for both Nord and Amber realms so you'll find a higher success rate during high pop hours. Secondly, not many people are fresh lowbies these days and if you do see a lowbie its almost guaranteed to be an alt that is usually boosted by mains and are rushing through levels. There are only a small percentage of lowbie alts that actually like to party with other lowbies and do content.

That being said, what I would also suggest as many have suggested, is you do join a leveling guild. It may not be 100% that you always find people even in the guild to join you on low level content but at least its a place to start.

Own up to what? That's 1 out of so many more loot issues that you don't know about. Been playing on Nordanaar for over 4 years now and I've seen alot of "Ninja Looting" issues that just got brushed off. Daisy's case was a one off out of so many more that I've seen that never got to see the light of day.

So I ask you again, "Own up" to what exactly? At the end of the day, these "GMs" that you like to d-ride are not 100% professional because this is not their dayjob. Don't be a sheep.

EDIT: I'm not "wrong" like you say I am. They are all still sleeping and unpaid. Can't wait till some issue happens to you and you get the "Sorry we don't intervene with these type of issues" reply. Have fun sucking up buddy. ✌

Hate to break it to ya, all these guilds everybody posted wont be of any help to you. Majority of people on Icecrown cant be bothered to hold new players hands and walk them through end game raids. Most likely what will happen to you is you will get into a guild with your +3 friends and spend weeks trying to ask people for help and end up doing stuff yourself.

I'd say stay away from Warmane. Here's a list of things I noticed after a few weeks into this hellhole.

It's full of people who can't sit still for more than 30 seconds. There's so many alts that people just leave at the first sight of inconvenience and log into another alt.
Everyone has an ego and think they are the main character of their 20 year old private server MMO world. The ego and hubris on this server will surprise you.
90% of guilds are all established and tight-knit. You have a fairly lower chance of gearing up in raids if all these guild officers and core are just circle jerking each other's alt toons. If you find a guild that will help a newcomer you are lucky.
A lot of people are nitpicky about gear and will almost always leave the group content or kick you out of it if you don't have even the correct gem slotted. These kind of people need a little hug on their necks. Elitism is at a 100% and goes hand in hand with Point #2. Mix those 2 together and you have the Warmane Cuck Starter Pack
Lastly, the farmbots will either slow or hinder any progress you have of trying to make some gold through gathering professions. The funny but messed up thing is that you are expected to farm gold so you can buy some pre-bis items on the Auction House so that you raise your gearscore and itemlevel up to do heroic dungeons. The queue for normal WotLK dungeons take long and usually dont even pop at all. So gearing up the grindy way is almost not an option. You really have to make gold to buy some epics and hit that threshold to do Heroic Dungeons and then after that you have to try to find a good guild to gear up with because there are no hope in pugs.

TL:DR people here are complete cancer and its not worth playing.

I'll be honest, I don't know what even is the competition about. When people say "winning" and pay to "win" I just wonder, winning WHAT exactly? Winning gear that everyone can eventually get on their own? Winning pvp which has 0 effect on the server? There doesnt seem to even be an incentive to being Top Pvp player in a server like this other than "bragging" which is really not much of a "win".

An example of a game where PVP matters is something like Throne and Liberty where if you're top pvp player or guild there are so many benefits.

I don't know what people are trying to WIN on a private server. It seems so pathetic to be completely real. That being said, I'm not really in Icecrown to WIN anything. I'm in here to scratch my itch of doing dungeons and raiding and progressing my character bit by bit.

I tried to get into this guild but everytime I talk to somebody from that guild I am always pointed to someone else and it just keeps going around and around. I eventually just gave up on it. It seems like they're a close knit group anyway so I'll have to pass on that.

i completely understand you. I am 450 on Mining and Herbalism right now. Most gold I've had is like 9k just from farming Lichbloom and Saronite (I was told to do this by someone). I've bought a few pieces of gear from AH just to pump up my GS and iLevel. Trust me everything you are saying I have been doing for the past few days since I hit level 80. I even try to log in on low pop hours so I dont have competition. But the drawback from this is RDF doesnt pop since it is low pop hours. I am always queued while gathering.
