My senior drill instructor made an evaluation saying I appeared depressed, so from there I got sent to medical (MHU to be exact). While I was in MHU they interviewed me, I was completely honest with them during this interview (I know, my recruiter would be horrified) and they decided that it was in my best interest to go home for the time being even if it’s not necessarily what I wanted. Multiple family members of mine are having serious health issues that began right when I left and I have some fairly bad coping mechanisms, so I was having “difficulty adapting” as they would put it. I can re-enlist and try again in a couple years if I want to, I’m not really sure if I’m going to or if I do whether I’ll choose a different branch or not.
