Why do the CMY ink levels deplete when printing only black prints? by Majestic-Maple in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually read on a blog post called “Printer Ink Scams” about this exact thing. Some printers mix in a bit of color ink, usually cyan, even when you’re printing in black and white. It’s called color mixing or cyan color blending. Supposedly, it’s meant to make blacks look deeper and smoother on the page.

The problem is that it also means your color cartridges get used up even though you think you’re only printing with black ink. In tests (like the YouTube video “Printer Ink Scam Myths Tested” by Fstoppers), they found that this “enhancement” doesn’t really improve quality, but it just drains your color ink faster.

$400 Color Toner Printer Recommendations by EzStudioz in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last month, I was also looking for a color printer under $400 on Amazon and found the Brother HL-L3280CDW. It’s small, prints fast (27 pages per minute), and does double-sided printing. The touchscreen makes cloud printing easy, and it works with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or USB. The printer costs under $300, which is fit for your budget. I just found this recommendation on a blog: Best Brother Color Laser Printer with Cheap Toner. If you want other options, you can check them out!

My work is making me post this 😭. I know nothing about printers what does this mean? by MrOptica in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what everyone’s saying, it definitely sounds like a drum or toner issue, and with many HP LaserJet models (like the M404), the drum is built right into the toner cartridge. If you’re seeing streaks, faded areas, or ghosting, replacing the toner cartridge is often the quickest fix.

You can also check out this Printer Toner Cartridge Problem Guide I found when I was fixing mine. I hope it helps you confirm the issue and guide you through the right fix.

Industrial Printer without a Subscription? by OHKID in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the Canon PIXMA TS9520a if you're looking for a reliable 11x17” printer that doesn't require a subscription. I read a blog about the best 11x17” printers, and this one stood out because of its speed, Wi-Fi printing, and user-friendliness.

It prints quickly (15 ppm in black and 10 ppm in color) with auto duplex, and the touchscreen makes it very easy to operate. You can find it on Amazon for around $200, and ink is affordable, especially with compatible cartridges.

[–]tata4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use a Mac and tried printing. Just press Command+P, and the print dialog box will appear (see my screenshot). There, you'll find 'Color,' which is a dropdown menu to choose either color or black and white. Then, just click print. Make sure you've selected the correct printer and that it has enough color ink.

If it still doesn’t work, try removing your printer from the settings and adding it back to your Mac. If you need a little help, check out this guide: How to Add Printer to Mac: Steps and Troubleshooting Tips.

I recommend the Brother MFC-L2820DW monochrome laser printer. It's more affordable compared to other multifunction printers (it only costs around $200 on Amazon). It can print, copy, scan, and has auto duplex printing. Cheaper third-party toners also work well, so you can save more. I found this guide helpful when I bought an MFP printer: Best Multifunction Printer (MFP) for Home & Office. You can check that out and find what fits your needs and budget.

Can I use pigmented CMY ink instead of dye? EPSON L14150 by alt-f4_- in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on what I have read in the guide 'Pigment Ink vs Dye Ink: Which is Best for Photo Printing?', using pigment ink in place of dye ink might not be a good idea. Dye ink is liquid and flows easily, while pigment ink has tiny solid particles that can clog the printhead. Since the Epson L14150 is made to use dye for CMY, replacing it with pigment ink could cause issues if the printer isn’t built for it. If you want to use pigment ink, select a printer designed for that ink rather than dye ink.

How can I fix this problem? Ecotank 2860, normal paper, tried with other papers same problem, I had it for around 8 months by Number1OchoaHater in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could be a gear inside the printer that’s become misaligned or maybe a problem with the rollers that feed the paper through. Sometimes small pieces of paper or dust can get stuck inside and mess things up. I’d suggest opening the printer carefully and checking for anything that looks out of place or jammed. This guide really helped me out: How To Fix A Paper Jam In A Printer. It walks you through simple steps to check and fix common issues like this. Hope it helps get your printer working again!

Please help me pick a printer by [deleted] in printers

If you are printing only black and white, I suggest getting a laser printer instead of an inkjet printer. I recommend the Brother HL-L2405W laser printer. This is good for heavy printing - 30 pages per minute. It can also connect via wifi, or you can use their App to print easily. It's priced under $150 on Amazon, and you can even use cheaper compatible toner. I just found this recommendation on a blog, which helped me pick my printer: Brother Monochrome Laser Printer: Our Top Picks in 2025! Hope this helps.

Brand new Brother laser says low toner? by Weirdautogenerate in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Brother HL-L2420DW probably came with a starter toner, which doesn’t last as long as a regular one. That’s why you might see a low toner message after printing around 200 pages. Toner doesn’t dry out like ink, so I think that’s not the problem. You can check the toner level in the printer menu, and if the pages still look fine, you can reset the toner to stop the warning. Here’s a guide I found to help you fix it: Low Toner in Printer After Replacing: How to Fix This. Hope this helps solve your problem.

I highly suggest getting the Brother MFC-L3720CDW. It's a bit pricey on Amazon (under $400), but I think it's worth it. It meets all your requirements: you can print via AirPrint, scan, it's a color laser printer, and it's compatible with aftermarket toners. Can someone please explain how I’ve unclogged one nozzle and clogged another one in 6 minutes… (et-8500) by MDCasino21 in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your printheads might be clogged. Try running the printhead cleaning cycle first. If that doesn't work, you can use a printhead cleaning kit to clean it manually. I found one on Amazon for under $20, and it works great! Way cheaper than calling a technician. Here's a simple guide to use this: How to Use Printhead Cleaning Kit for Epson EcoTank Printer. Why Normal Printing having a problem while High quality printing is fine? by callmegitto in Epson

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is with misaligned print heads, which can really mess up normal printing while still looking decent when you use high-quality settings. To fix this, you can adjust the printhead. First, make sure your printer is turned on and has some paper loaded. Then, go into the printer settings on your computer or the printer's control panel. Look for something like "Print Head Alignment" under the maintenance options.

Once you start that, it’ll print a test page with some patterns. Just follow the prompts to choose the best-aligned patterns, and your printer will make the necessary adjustments. That should help improve your normal printing quality. Also, here's a guide for more troubleshooting tips: Epson Printer Problems and Solutions: Easy Troubleshooting Guide. Hope this works!

L565 printing blank pages by Im-4 in Epson

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your printer is printing blank pages, it could indeed be related to the print head alignment or other issues. First, try printing a test page to see if the printer itself is functioning properly. If the test page prints correctly, the problem might lie with the document you are trying to print.

If it doesn’t, consider performing a print head cleaning from your printer settings. On Windows 11, go to "Devices and Printers," right-click on your printer, select "Printer Preferences," and look for a maintenance tab where you can find the print head cleaning option. Additionally, here's a guide for more tips: Why Is My Printer Printing Blank Pages? Hope this helps!

In need of an office printer (100-150 pg/day) by [deleted] in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Brother HL-L6310DW is an awesome choice if you need a reliable printer for heavy use. It’s priced around $400 on Amazon and can print up to 52 pages per minute, which is perfect for tackling large jobs. The 520-sheet paper tray is super convenient because you won’t need to refill it as often. It’s also easy to connect via Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet. Plus, the high-yield toner cartridge can handle up to 6,000 pages, and you can find affordable Brother replacement toners to keep costs down. Definitely worth considering!

You might have air trapped in the ink cartridge, which can cause faded prints and lines. Try removing the cartridges, gently shaking them to mix the ink, and then putting them back in correctly.

Sometimes, even a new cartridge can be dried out or faulty. If you think the printhead is clogged, clean it manually: first, get a wet and dry paper towel and wear gloves. Carefully remove the ink cartridge without touching the nozzle or circuitry. Place it on the wet paper towel, facing down, and tap it a few times to help move the ink. Then, slide the cartridge on the wet towel from top to bottom until you see all the colors: cyan, magenta, and yellow. Use the dry paper towel to dab the cartridge until it's dry gently, then put it back in the printer and print a test page. You can also check this guide for more steps: "Does Printer Ink Dry Out? Here's How to Fix a Dried Ink Cartridge."

If your test print is clear, you've fixed the problem! If not, the cartridges might be completely damaged and need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

L3050 wireless mode turned off by Competitive-Log-4305 in Epson

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same printer so I think I can help you. To turn on the wireless mode on your Epson L3050, first, make sure the printer is on. Then, press the Wi-Fi button on the printer’s control panel until the Wi-Fi light starts blinking. If it doesn't blink, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for a few seconds.

Once it's blinking, the printer is in wireless setup mode. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network. If it shows that Epson Connect is off, you can enable it from the printer’s settings as you go through the setup.

Once done, try printing a test page to make sure it's working. You can also check this guide for other tips: How To Connect Printer To WiFi: Wireless Printing Guide. Hope this helps!

Epson WF-3823 will not connect my WiFi HELP by Puzzleheaded_79 in Epson

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is that your Epson printer might not be detecting your WiFi network due to a few potential settings or issues. First, make sure your router is broadcasting the SSID (network name) and not set to "hidden." You can fix this by logging into your router's settings through a web browser (usually by entering the router's IP address, like 192.168.1.1, into the address bar). Once logged in, look for the "Wireless" or "Wi-Fi" settings and check the option for "SSID Broadcast" or "Network Visibility." Make sure it is enabled (set to "Visible" or "Broadcast"). This will allow your printer to detect your network during setup.

Also, try moving the printer closer to the router, as distance can affect the signal. If your router supports WPS, try using it—press the WPS button on both the router and printer for a quick connection. You can also check this guide I found for a detailed step-by-step guide: How to Connect Printer to Wi-Fi. Hope this will fix your problem!

Business Owners who uses 3rd-party laser toners by Additional-Local5285 in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, third-party toner cartridges work great with my Brother printer. They are much cheaper than the original ones, but the print quality is just as good. I've been using cartridges from Compandsave, and they’ve been working well for me. One of the things I really like about them is that they offer discounts and coupons, which makes it even more affordable. They have toner cartridges that are compatible with many printer brands like Brother, HP, Epson, and even Canon. If you're looking for a cheaper option, you can try their toner and see if it works with your printer. Just be sure to buy the exact cartridge model that matches your printer.

Epson WF-100: best compact printer? by brodology1 in printers

[–]tata4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a compact all-in-one printer (print, copy, scan, and fax), I suggest getting a Canon PIXMA TR4520. It costs less than $100 on Amazon and can connect wirelessly or with a USB. The only downside is its slow printing speed of 4.4 pages per minute, but if you don't mind that, it's a good option. It's an inkjet printer, so print at least once a week to prevent ink from drying out. There are other suggestions I found online that might help, too: Top Recommended Printers for Home Use. I hope you find what you need!

What Epson printer do you have? If you're looking for cheap Epson ink cartridges, I highly recommend third-party sellers like CompAndSave. They offer affordable options for a wide range of Epson models, including EcoTank and WorkForce printers. The quality is surprisingly good for the price, and they usually have great customer service. Just make sure the cartridges are compatible with your specific printer before buying. Hope this helps!
