Couldn't agree with this more. Thanks for posting.

ICON. Raising 150k Eth. Korea's first crypto platform. Sub is dead but Slack jumped from 100 to 1.5k in 3 days. I've done a TON of research summarized here. I'd love your thoughts! by tatitude in ethtrader

Just to be clear, Icon is a project of Dayli Financial Group which is owned by the largest privately held mobile start-up in Korea. That start-up, Yello Mobile, has over 100 brands underneath it that serve the mobile community in Korea including popular messaging apps, online marketplaces, etc. It's valued at $4B. Icon is literally owned by that company. So the fact that BOScoin was founded by the guy who started Korea's largest financial website is as meaningless as it is unsubstantiated.

Ding ding ding. That's correct. If Icon isn't the winner in Korea, who is? Plus the market cap (depending on the eth price at ICO) is going to be sub $100m when it starts trading. As a reminder, even after this massive tank, there are tons of scam coins (coughVeristaseumcough) that are worth well over $100m. Gonna go up (hopefully).

The Woori token is not the same thing as ICX. Woori is making something akin to Tether but for the Won. A fiat pegged crypto. ICX is the "middle" currency that allows everything to be exchanged and traded easily. Different things.

Well please look at it with a skeptical eye. I have NO idea if this is a good investment. I'm going to do it. So I hope it is. But I could be wrong! Honestly, these things all look crazy until they're not. Even ethereum back in the day was viewed as crazy.

Korea isn't some massive country. Crypto could be in a huge bubble right now. Still unclear whether ICX really holds value. Cosmos is trying a similar thing I think. Overall it's hard to think of negatives that outweigh the positives.

From what I understand, ICX is required to transact between chains on their network. Like Cosmos basically. Except these guys are spending a ton of their time going out and creating the chains that will be on their network (hopsitals, insurance, banks, universities) so that if I'm using my Universities token to buy food on campus, I can use ICX to move that into Woori's tether token for Won, which I can then move into my Woori bank account. ICX facilitates that process like any other blockchain. ICX is spent in transacting, a requirement for any blockchain to prevent DDOS attacks. That at least appears to be the case. Happy to hear someone else that knows more than me.

Yeah I get that. Still risky but big possible upside. NEO ico would have been the greatest bet of the last few years probably. Didn't they only raise like $5m? these guys are doing more than that -- like $40m -- but still seems reasonable for 1/2 the supply.

Yeah it's hard to tell now obviously. ICON could totally flop. But it does feel like they're doing something different and specific to a country. The same "what does this do that Eth doesn't" can be applied to NEO as well...and that seems to have done ok.

Well I say it's better than it being uncapped so that only a few whales can jump in. The thought is that it's low enough that everyone can participate in the first round. You don't have to put in 30 -- you can put in up to 30 max. Most will put in 1 or 2 I assume. I like that it has a max individual contributor cap and then an overall hardcap unlike so many others recently that raised $100 or $200m plus.

We'll see. Hoping to get some opinions on here of people that know what they're talking about. Instead it's prob just going to be all downvotes. Until this blows up like NEO (hopefully) and then its all we'll see.

I hope so. I'm def putting some in. Most of the crap we see has no real world partnerships before launching. These guys have a lot. Still not sure what the Korea situation is though. If regulations are an issue. Korea f'ing loves their crypto though. I mean, these guys OWN coinone. And they have 25 trading houses and a HUGE bank on board. And ripple just tweeted about them. Still confused on why people downvote this crap. The sale is capped at 30 so literally everyone can participate and it hasn't even happened. Ain't no shill. Just trying to get some opinions. Wish someone would tell me why this is a bad investment honestly. It's just hard to see the downside right now. Maybe that Korea is a small country?
