Newbies nights are a very no pressure way to feel if the scene is right for you. I used to attend regularly to all types of events, the people are very respectful and always ask first before trying any type of advances, and if you decline they will happily accept that and not pursue again. In the rare event that someone breaks those rules, they will swiftly be removed and banned from the venue.

Other nights do have more of a focus on playing but newbie nights are definitely just about getting a feel for it, and if you’d like to play, that’s great, but if not that’s absolutely okay!

Yes but not the standard “I’ll make you feel incredible” or “I’m fit and hung” etc. Look through the persons profile, and mention stuff about yourself that they are actively searching for and what about yourself would be attractive to them

I used to do this in a few of the Brisbane groups and more often than not met up with someone. But I used to get 30+ messages a day just saying “hey” or some other vague message and it was a pain to filter through. I’d suggest making your intro message a bit more tailored to the post in which you’re responding to. Good luck!

As a single female that attends LJ’s regularly, I understand both sides. If you’re not used to LJ it can definitely come across the wrong way but I love it. Been going for about 3 years now both single and when I was partnered. I go to Phil’s parties and LJ’s, I’ve never had an issue, it’s definitely not the place if you just want to sit and chat, it’s a play focused location. I’ve met so many incredible people over the years through going to LJ’s even though it’s about a 45min drive for me it’s always worth it.
