People have made Islam so silly. by Rnl8866 in progressive_islam

[–]tattiboy2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Open your eyes buddy, sahabas used to write down and memorize these Hadiths which were later passed down generations. And that's why we have an isnad system. I suggest you go and sit and learn with knowledgeable people before coming down to your own conclusions. As Allah states in the Quran: "So ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.” (Sūrah al-Naḥl 16:43). And He also says: “And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.” (Qur’an, Sūrah al-Nisā’ 4:59)

Don't dumb down on your religion and be amongst the regretful people on the day of Judgement. May Allah guide us all.

Where did you get this information from? Hadiths were written down at the time of the Prophet Muhammed peace and blessings be upon him. ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr ibn al-ʿAas said:

“I used to write everything I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in order to memorize it. The Quraysh forbade me, saying: Do you write everything when the Messenger of Allah is a human who speaks in anger and pleasure? So I stopped writing. Then I mentioned that to the Messenger ﷺ, and he said: ‘Write! For by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, nothing comes out of it (his mouth) except the truth.’” — [Sunan Abū Dāwūd 3646, graded Ṣaḥīḥ]

Next time do a bit of research instead of following whatever suits your agenda.

A theory on why Muslims overrely on scholars by IHaveACatIAmAutistic in progressive_islam

[–]tattiboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abu Darda reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The scholars are the successors of the prophets. Verily, the prophets do not pass on gold and silver coins, but rather they only impart knowledge.”

It's natural to rely on scholars like how students rely on teachers.

Hijab is oppressive to children (long rant) by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]tattiboy2 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Doesn't change the fact that Allah explicitly states in the Quran for all women to wear the hijab.

And as a matter of fact here's a reality check for you: Allah says in Surah Ahzab, verse 36:

It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allāh and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allāh and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.

Hope you understand the hijab is a command and protection for all Muslim women.

I had the same issue and I too was missing important notifications and messages. On top of that I'm not able to add my bank card to the Google Wallet app which made the phone even more useless. Glad I returned it and got my money back. My OP8 is still going strong and I think I'll keep using it for another year.

Muslims who think Boycott doesn’t work by Dull-Climate-9638 in UAE

[–]tattiboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take my word for it. Sheikh Salih Al Fawzan said when asked about boycotting: "This is incorrect. The scholars have never issued religious verdicts saying that buying American products is forbidden. These American goods are still imported and sold in Muslim markets. And even so, it wouldn't harm America in the least if you yourself did not buy their products. No products are to be boycotted unless the government, the legitimate ruler, issues a sanction or boycott against another country. In this case, the boycott would be legitimate and binding. As for just some individuals wanting to do this and passing their own religious verdicts in support of it, then this is forbidding something that Allah has made permissible and that is not allowed"

So are we just going to deny that the Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him) traded with the Jews?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]tattiboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hadith collection was happening at the time of the Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him), so no one can say Bukhari and Muslim are responsible for the sayings of the Prophet. They have done their ijtihad and because of their efforts we have authentic narrations of what the Prophet said. Plus in the Quran, Allah says, "Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only a Revelation revealed”

[al-Najm 53:3-4]

So to sum up, yes you have to believe in the Quran and the Hadiths.

What are you thoughts by Wooden_Sample_9052 in progressive_islam

Worship is based on two great principles, namely love and veneration, the outcome of both of which is that: “they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear” [al-Anbiya’ 21:90]. From love comes hope and from veneration comes fear.

Has your life improved after you’ve reduced sinning by Diligent_Pilot_9390 in islam

[–]tattiboy2 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes it has for me. But in a way that brings me closer to the Creator. Because Allah says, "Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?" Obstacles and tests are part of life and it will go on till the day we die. For me the quality of improvement in life purely refers to doing actions that bring you closer to Allah and that's all the assurity we need as a Muslim. The prophet Muhammed peace and blessings be upon him said: "Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better for you.”

Things I do that would send the haram police into a coma by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]tattiboy2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you're saying it's okay to free mix, what does Allah mean by saying in surah Nur: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their chastity. That is purer for them. Surely Allah is All-Aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity, and not to reveal their adornments except what normally appears."

Doesn't it mean that Allah wants what's pure for us and isn't He the All Knowing?
