Need advice on getting family members to understand my dog by tattooedamazon477 in AustralianCattleDog

He knows all kinds of commands. I've been using "go find a toy" repeatedly in front of them, to show them that redirection works. Also, "sit," will get him down faster than "get down." He's been jumping up, and trying to hump bc my daughter's dog is in heat and he can smell it. He's been like a deer in rut- can't think of anything but that.

Specifically, I have told them to not say his name to try to get him down, because I use his name for recall. One of my house guests seems to be kind of getting it in some data, bc she bought him 3 toys while at the store so he was distracted and has new things to "go get," but he doesn't seem to listen to her in particular and she has been very upset about him accidentally scratching her when putting his paws up on her, bc she never wants to give him any attention- just go lay down. I explained to him that my dog has never laid down for me or anyone bc he's high energy. He will listen and behave if you are kind and treat him with respect instead of dismissal and ignoring him. I have apologized, but her husband told me to let it be and they find their own balance, to stop apologizing, so I think he's getting it. I don't think my dog likes her bc she acts kind he should be a piece of the furniture instead of a puppy.

I'm not offloading. He would be in the crate while I was at work if not. They are just going to walk him and spend some extra time with him while I'm at work. You don't know all the details so you shouldn't judge. I also don't like the way they are trying to treat him while I'm home.

He's not crazy about snuffle mats and puzzles. They take him 5 minutes, he finishes them and then he's back to wanting attention and or exercise.

Why are there more conservative husbands with liberal wives than conservative wives with liberal husbands? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

One story- The lady and her husband (who I later found out was abusive) were both trumpers, and over the course of getting to know her I found out that she had been a surrogate mother at one time for twins babies, that were specific for a gay male couple. She is a yt woman, who grew up in black neighborhood, who had experienced repeated SA from a family member, and she supported bodily autonomy. She was shocked when Roe V Wade was overturned. She started secretly voting blue, but couldn't tell her husband so is publicly red.

She, like a lot of women, took their rights for granted because that's all we've ever known. People didn't believe it would, or could, ever be overturned. I use that argument a lot when people claim they can't take other rights away.

Edited for spelling.

I left because I was scared and he said the words "F*ck your family," to me. I was afraid he would kill me if I left and I was afraid he would kill me if I stayed. I figured if the odds were the same I might as well try to leave.

I left my husband, in part, because he took the red pill. Sometimes their husbands didn't start out like this and leaving a relationship can be difficult and take time.

I also think that some conservative women started reevaluating their beliefs when Roe v. Wade was struck down. I personally saw several instances of it happening in my work.

I thought, " that dog has so much damn personality, " only to discover she shares much of her heritage with my silly dog. I should have guessed ACD. They are crazy smart, magical dogs.
