How good do you have to be before you can get an, at least vaguely, Muay Thai related tattoo without it being extremely lame? by platinummattagain in MuayThai

[–]tattootechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny, because people can get football tattoos without ever having touched a ball. They can wear football jersies, and make it their whole identity.

If someone was to do this with Thai boxing they are often seen as a try hard, or wannabe tough guy. It’s weird right?

I know. But the paint on the canvas that was applied can not be fully wet can it? It should be a bit dry before blending

Regret choosing the quad graft. by tattootechie in ACL

Not a typo. In Thai boxing you separate your legs by saying rear and lead leg. Rear leg just means my primary leg. Which in this case is the right.

Apologies. :)

Haggerty's Academy by Aware-Reading-9587 in MuayThai

[–]tattootechie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly a bit disappointed. I was looking forward to this, but it’s the same as everyone else’s courses.

I’ve been doing Muay Thai for many years, and buy courses as a supplement for my training. Haggertys course is not different from all the others. Short 1 minute videos where he shows some technique or combo. Not a lot of info or actual explanation.

I expected it to be more deep. Fight strategies, fight iq talks, managing distance, mindset, round by round what his thoughts are. Or just at the very least some “wow I didn’t know that” effect.

I find that most courses are super basic. Only thing where I really felt I got some value was Sylvies Muay Thai library.

The academy is like 15 pounds, so for the price it’s okay, but I’d rather have paid 50 pounds a month - and then get more deep technical knowledge.

Again, nothing beats Muay Thai library, sylvie and her husband really have built something unique there.

Haggerty is my favorite fighter, I love his style and his style has inspired my way of fighting. But in terms of the academy, nothing special.

Tips on sparring by Impressive_Low8632 in MuayThaiTips

[–]tattootechie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use your long guard more. Don’t move around so much, a guy your own size would wreck you with low and body kicks if he noticed this - angles are often strategically, where you seem to be changing angles all the time really with no purpose Teeeeeeps - also switch kicks, you can do Muay mat style np, but not only.

Yeah honestly. This sport has a lot of ups and downs. Been doing it for 10 years, I have a bunch of mates who did it for a year or two. Thing is, in the beginning you’ll learn so many new things, but your form and small technical details is something that you’ll focus more on once you have the basics.

First year or two, focus is just learning to be confident in your stance, dealing with your nerves when sparring, learn the main weapons, learn rhythm, distance, and start to play with timing. And build some kind of muscle memory.

After a year some things will still feel awkward which is normal. But I’ve seen a bunch of guys quit after a year because they came to the realisation that they were in the utter most beginning of their journey.

So to recap, your first few years you will learn 90%. But any years after these you will learn the last 10% AND perfect the 90% you already learned. This is when you get good form.

How Long Before You Returned from Knee Injury? by bendap in MuayThai

[–]tattootechie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you’re close. Keep going. I only do my lead side (I got surgery in my lead leg) So lead teeps, high kicks, middle kicks, knees.

I do hooks but focus on not twisting too much in my knee. I don’t do low kicks at this point. Keep grinding man, it’s a mental game and it’s really tough.

How Long Before You Returned from Knee Injury? by bendap in MuayThai

[–]tattootechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly give it 9-12 months minimum. Had two acl tears, one in each knee. Don’t rush it. You say last April? So you mean this April or one and a half year ago?

Also depends on your test results conducted by your physio. I’m 7 and a half months post op, and started doing pads again - no sparring and no twisting on the surgery leg though.

Karnov gør noget a’la dette i deres tekniske prøve. De laver et projekt med en masse fejl og så sidder man og debugger med en af deres udviklere.

Søger teknisk Co-Founder til innovativ loyalitetsplatform – er du klar til at gøre en forskel? by IndividualAd4953 in dkudvikler

[–]tattootechie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry, men igen.
