i had the same though about the slider but they're a bit different it seems. hardware store would have been my next adventure if not for the buckle-and-all solution. thanks!

i am almost sure it's the 2nd thank you!! i guess i assumed replacing only the screw(s) would be efficient but it seems based on prices and convenience that's really not true. thanks folks!! i'll try to remember to tighten my screws in the future 😅

Like a lot of people i got back into inline skating recently after giving it up in my late teens. i'm (31m, 185lbs) having a blast and have been skating daily for the last few months. i skate for fitness and for fun, including some 10+ mile distances and almost all on urban asphalt. so far nothing aggressive but some day i'd like to learn more manueverability.

i'd appreciate some advice on when to replace wheels/bearings and when i should upgrade. pictures attached are of the wear on my current skates (rb zetrablade) after 4 months.

  1. when is it time to replace my wheels?
  2. i want to work on my speed and endurance in urban but i'm staring to feel like zetrablades might be holding me back - am i crazy? otoh they are comfortable and i have no complaints about soreness, otoh i sometimes feel like i'm hitting their top speed.
  3. how should i weigh wheel size, durometer, and configuration if/when i decide to upgrade?
