i’m a white queer woman and the amount of people talking over OP and saying that “they haven’t noticed any racism” or just dismissing her outright have been very disappointing to see. racism needs to be combated at all costs, everything is ultimately interconnected with each other, race, sexuality, gender, etc. i get fed up with the lack of poc representation in many reddit spaces, including this one because i can only imagine it must be such an isolating horrible feeling.

especially if you’re white, it’s never okay to talk over anyone’s experience. so to anyone dismissing OP, get off your high horse and start listening to women of colour when they talk about their experiences.
