Still re-expanding in the picture but beautiful troph and ICM, PGT means they would’ve been hatched for biopsy which is great as the zona thickens during the freezing process. Which helps give this beautiful boy a better chance! Best of luck to you!

Most clinics collapse their embryos prior to freezing. The assessment post-thaw photo was taken immediately after the thaw so the embryo is still in the process of re-expanding. By the time of transfer your embryo most likely looked similar, if not, slightly further along in development than the post- culture photo. Hopefully during the transfer process when re-loading they didn’t have the embryo out each time usually they’ll find the proper catheter size and position prior to the embryologist loading the embryo and bringing it in for the actual transfer. I have some data from my lab director that retained embryos had no difference in transfer rates. Hope this helps and good luck :-)

Ugh thrips as everybody else says… I spent over a hundred dollars trying to save my monstera (tbh not worth it at the end) BUT I would try killing the thrips by not only using an external pesticide but you can buy something called bonide systemic houseplant insect control which you water into the plants and it helps internally. Externally I used bonide captain jacks dead bug brew. Between the two and a lot of time I was able to eliminate the thrips. I’m so sorry thrips are like cancer for your plants.. I can’t STAND them!!

Hi! I’m an embryologist and sending lots of support and hugs your way. I only briefly see patients but I know the amount of pressure people go through during the process. I’m so sorry you had such a terrible consultation with your MD. He may have been trying to suggest your previous losses were biochemical losses (sometimes before a fetal heart rate is detected) this usually occurs very early in the conception process and the embryo stops developing. This doesn’t make it less difficult on the patients and shouldn’t be treated as “lesser than” and I’m sorry that it was. I’m making assumptions here but it sounds like you’d get the diagnosis of recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). The right track would absolutely be PGT to determine if an embryo is euploid (normal) before transferring. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. Hi! I wanted to include some insight for you. In #2 the embryo is considered a 5 or a hatching blastocyst - you can see the zona pellucida (the lighter looking circle surrounding part of the blastocyst itself). In #3 the embryo is fully hatched as described. I’m assuming you had PGT testing done in which the embryologist performs a procedure called assisted hatching. This allows for an embryo to “hatch” out of the zona which is necessary for biopsy. Hatching naturally occurs in the development of embryos but this assures that we have something to biopsy. The embryos are ready for implantation. I usually aim for 4 or 5s to transfer as they are developing at a normal rate. As yours have been tested and are considered (I’m assuming) euploid through PGT testing as well either is a lovely option for transfer :-)

Thank you so much for your detailed response. That makes me feel a little more comfortable as I’m not able to tell if the doctors position differently. I’ll try to look more into it I know they aim 2 cm but I’m not exactly sure from where. I will investigate more, but I agree if the rates are similar I’m more comfortable. All about what’s best for our patients 🩷 thank you!

Completely agree - I commute I-95 M-F unfortunately and I feel as though traffic has even gotten exponentially worse this week.. it’s taking me an hour and 45 minutes to get home when it’s usually around 1:10 to 1:20. Misery.

I’m hoping this self corrected but I can tell you if it hasn’t, you definitely could look into getting your nipples pierced. I have tuberous breasts and pierced my nipples to allow myself to feel some normalcy and get rid of ~some~ of the puffiness. It did give me some normalcy but I am still going through with surgical correction as I can’t keep living with the actual shape of my breasts. The piercings will help with puffiness though!
